Review Topic: K1 Visa

Arrived at 930 am.
Gentleman put him in seperate line for K1 visa and he went in immediately after handing over the following documents: my tax transcipt, my employer letter, his ACRO police form. Passport, birth certificate and DS 160.
Interviewer was kind only asked how we met and when he plans to come. Other that he was APPROVED on the spot.

I know there are a lot of these, but I found reading a lot of them to be super helpful to me!

My interview was at 10am, at the (new) US Embassy in London. It's a pretty nice building, surrounded by ongoing construction works, with a lot of (armed) security walking around the perimeter. Not sure what sort of guns they were but to me it was intimidating.

I stayed at a nearby hotel, a Holiday Inn, the night before because I didn't want to risk train strikes interfering with my interview! I made use of the daylight hours to walk up to the Embassy before the big day, it only took 15 minutes, though pedestrian traffic was much quieter in the evening than it was in the day!

On the day itself, I got there at 9.20, and one of the ladies outside (there were two), asked me to return in ten minutes. She pointed out where the nearest shop was (Waitrose), which is a five minute walk away, and I went to get a bottle of water. Returned at 9.30, and was told... read complete review

What an amazing experience. I’m fortunate to have such a wonderful experience at Knightsbridge and the Embassy. Ok, so as your reading this (like me before having massive eye rolls at how many people say the Embassy level is relatively easy)-it truely is! Let your love shine no matter whether your doing a K1/CR 1!

So, my appointment was 11am. I was shivering outside and they let us (Jake and I) in at 10.25am. Jake, the petitioner just had to present his US passport and confirm he was the petitioner.

We went to reception. Got sticker with a number on it. Took lift and went to appropriate area. My number was flashing as soon as I went in. Just had to give 1 US passport photo , I 134, ACRO, original birth certificate, 3 recent pay stubs. Asked when I wanted to go to US, had I been married before. Over in few minutes. Was giving my X Ray.

Sat down for 10 minutes. Number called again. Went to booth and CO called Jake over without me ev... read complete review

Filing the K-1 visa thankfully with the help of VisaJourney not too difficult.
We were sent a notice of approval fairly quickly and did not have any RFE's.

The appointment at the Consulate went quickly. Everyone was so nice and friendly.
I had the medical and blood work done (have to say the woman there was an absolute export at this she was done even before i looked/ She was staring at me saying you're all done. I've never experienced anything like it. People were crying etc when they went in and were stunned they came out 1 minute later all done and they even wondered if she took any blood.

I waited a little and my name was called and I answered a few simple questions about my form and intent to go to USA.
Everything was okay and I had the K-1 visa stuck in my passport.
Was over and done in less than 2 hours.
