My experience mirrored much of what as been said; overall a painless and pleasant experience. Arrived at 8:30 for my 9:00 o’clock appointment, line out front took about 10-15 minutes. Once through security, as advised I skipped both lines to the left and told the woman at the desk I was there for immigration. Got my number and was sent to the 1st floor, left and left again. Waited about 10 minutes before being called up for a paperwork check (civil docs, affidavit with any evidence , and passport photo). Sat back down and after about 20 minutes was called up for my “interview†which really just consisted of three questions: 1) So you want to get married in the states? 2) How did you meet your fiancé? 3) Do you have any questions about the pamphlet you received? (Given at first window as is about your rights and obligations as a spouse in the US. Was then handed back my original docs and told the visa was and could expect my passport back by next week (interview w... read complete review

I had my interview on Friday and the experience was much, much more straight forward than I thought it was going to be.
My appointment was at 11:30 so I got there about 10, had a cup of tea at the cafe next to the embassy and picked up a snack from Waitrose as I had been told that the waiting times could be very long.
At 11 I went to the embassy. The guy at the door checked my DS160 and then I went through security after showing the guard my mobile phone and opening an app on it.
After getting through security I went to the reception area, was given a number, and was told to take the lift to the first floor and turn left twice to get to the immigrant visa section of the embassy.
I waited for around 10 minutes until my number was called. Handed over the documents that I was asked for; !-134, employment verification letter, bank statements showing deposits for the past year, reaffirmation letter, one passport photo for them ... read complete review

CR-1 Interview in London, United Kingdom.
Today is the day...
Getting to London
My appointment was at 09:30.
I had some bad experiences travelling to London last time for the medical, they weren't the best this time. I swear London doesn't like me. I was flying BA1471 from Inverness to London Heathrow. Leaving at 19:05, arriving at 20:35 and staying overnight.
Unfortunately the day I was travelling London had Yellow and Amber weather warnings, with all the airports having IFR flying conditions or worse -- though knowing London that could have just been for a mild drizzle... sorry Londoners -- this meant I was paranoid all day the flight would be cancelled... luckily it wasn't, it just arrived about 20 minutes late.
I was also worried about the Revolution Rebellion LARPers slowing things down also but that didn't happen either
I'd recommend going for a mid to late morning appointment... read complete review

for the actual interview you just turn up, wait for your number to be called and have a little chat to the guy/lady behind the glass twice- first time to give your documents and second time to ask a few questions after they've reviewed it. I was asked where me and Jason met and how long we'd been together, then how many times we'd met in person and the last time I saw him.
