I had my interview on the 8th Feb and i got approved. Yayyyyy.
It wasn\'t as bad as i had expected. I got there for 7.45am and stood in line where a woman came and checked my interview letter and passport. She sent me through security where i placed all my paperwork and handbag to go through scanner.
After that i went into the building where i was given a number which i was told to look out for to be called. It was an \'I\' number. I finally sat down at 8am. To which they atarted calling numbers out. There are more \'N\' numbers than \'I\'. I waited for around an hour before my number was finally called to a window. There i was met by a very nice gentleman who asked me if that was my picture on the paperwork to which i said yes. He asked me a few questions on my paperwork and on my marriage then gave me a pink courier slip to fill out and told me to wait back in the waiting area for my name to be called for my 2nd interview.
So i went back and finally my name was... read complete review

Arrived at Gtosvenor Square about 7am, nothing was open, so grabbed a starbucks while I waited; when Gould's opened I dropped off my camera and phone (their bags are pretty big, so don't worry about bringing big stuff).

Got in the queue at 7.20 just in time to see the armed guards wander in, then got called through. You have to wait outside the security hut and put your belt/watch in a bag before they let you in, then it all goes through a scanner like at the airport. After that, you leave the hut and follow the path round into the main embassy itself.

When you enter, give your appointment letter to the lady and she'll put a sticker on there. Then you wiat....

They started calling numbers at 8am, by 8.05 I-902 (me) was called. I went up to desk 14 and as soon as the guy serving me said 'hello,' I realized he was the spitting image of Lionel Ritchie(!). Sadly he was rather businesslike and humourless so he didn't do much to put me at ease. O... read complete review

I arrived at the Embassy at 8:20am after dropping off my mobile phone at Gould's Pharmacy. Finally got inside the Embassy at 9:05am. I was concerned as my interview was scheduled for 9am but the security staff outside said that the time is irrelevant and not to worry. Once inside, I got my ticket number from the desk and took a seat.

I was called after waiting for about 20 minutes. I handed my original documents over and had my fingerprints taken. The man gave me my X-Ray DVD, gave me my courier form to fill out and then told me to take a seat.

I was called for my interview about 2 and a quarter hours later. My officer was a lovely lady, very smiley. She went through my documents and gave me back my originals. She made me swear the usual oath that everything I was saying and had said was the truth, etc. Then she asked how we met, have we met each other's family and friends, have we visited each other if so when and how many times, how we felt ab... read complete review

Overall my experience at the interview was very straight forward and positive. I detail below exactly what happened so that it may assist others with interviews coming up.

My interview was on Tuesday 29th January at 9.00am. Me and my mum left my home at 4.30am as I live in Gloucestershire and wanted to leave plenty of time to get to London for my 9.00am appointment. We drove to the outskirts of London and parked at Perivale tube station which is a very convenient station if you are coming from the West. Parking costs only £4.00 all day and it is in zone 4 of the central line with really easy access straight into the City. The journey was very smooth and me and my mum were actually in central London by 7.00am. I checked my cell phone in at the chemist for £3.00 and made my way to the Embassy whilst my mum went off to get breakfast and shop til I was finished.

I got into the queue at 7.20am. There were 4-5 people in front of me. The Embassy staff ... read complete review

Having never been the to US embassy before it was a first slightly daunting to say the least, my interview was set for 10:00, I arrived at the embassy at 9:20 to be greeted by a huge queue spanning the walkway area and multiple armed officers on patrol.

I joined the queue and immediately i had a woman approach me asking me what i was there for, i explained it was K-1, she found my name on the list and told me to stay i the queue and to inform the receptionist in the building that i was on the list as i had a last minute interview and had not yet receieved my confirmation letter. 5 minutes pass and i'm at the front of the queue about the enter the metal detector/ security check, had a bit of a laugh with the guard on duty due to my appearance on my passport, as my bag went through the metal detector it was given back to me and i was told to leave the building and dispose of the USB memory stick i had in there, i suddenly felt panicked as i didnt even know it was in there,... read complete review
