I had my interview yesterday and I was APPROVED! Here is how the day panned out:-
8.07am - entered the Embassy
9.45am - Called up for my first meeting with a Consulate officer. I was I913 which meant I was the 13th visa application of that day. The lady at desk 1 was very professional. She gave me my xray back and told me to keep it in my hand luggage. She then asked me to give my finger prints before asking me for the following: letter of interview, passport, birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce papers, I864's, page 3 & 4 of the DS-230 and my 2 photos. She asked me when I intended to travel and went through a list of questions, ticking her boxes appropriately. She told me to go to the payment desk and return to desk 1. She then handed me a pink courier form and told me to fill it out whilst I wait to be called for my interview. (Take a pen!!)
10.05am - Sat down and waited for my name to be called.
11.00am - Called by name to window 15 where a young, tall American gentleman greeted me. I wished him a Happy Valentines day and he returned the wish. He asked me to give my fingerprints and confirm my name. I swore that all of the information I gave was correct. He then began to ask me about my relationship, why I wanted to live in America, if I had any children with my husband and what he does for a living. He asked me about my co-sponsor and her relationship to me and then advised me that he was approving my application, to take the pink slip to the courier desk and said 'you're all set and free to go'. I almost skipped to the courier desk! I paid them and made my way out of the Embassy at 11.25am.
All in all a very calm and professional morning and all of my nerves were for nothing. Don't worry, you'll be fine as long as you take all of the documents they ask for and copies.
