Reading other reviews really prepared me for this, and I'm the kind of person who likes being *super* prepared!
Well, after stress and nerves over ridiculously windy rainy weather and a delayed train on my way in, I still got to Gould Pharmacy very early. Popped to Starbucks to kill some time, then back to Goulds for around 7.05am. They saw me waiting and let me in to leave them my phone at around 7.15 or so. Five mins later I was sheltering from the rain with the others in the queue (I think I was about seventh in line).
Not having my phone for time reference, hard to say when exactly the embassy people came out to start processing us but it didn't feel long, I didn't even get to finish the magazine article I was reading! Like everyone says they announce about Goulds etc, and this thins the line a bit. After showing my interview letter and passport to two gentlemen, I went through the airport-style security booth thing and then into the embassy itself. Is... read complete review

Interview was scheduled for 9am.
We had a late checkout organised at our hotel (Holiday Inn, Mayfair - highly recommended) so had no worries about storing electronics etc and had printed out walking directions from the hotel to the embassy - neither of us would be able to survive without Google/Apple maps on phones these days so this was essential - so we got to the embassy with no problems just before 8am. It was raining, which made things a bit miserable, but general apprehension overwhelmed the feeling.
When we got there no one was attending the little desk thing, and there were no signs saying what to do so we just joined the back of the queue. My wife was attending with me, and we had contacted them to get her on the list. While we were queuing a lady appeared and sat at the desk and most people began to check in with her on arrival, which made us wonder whether we were supposed to have done that too. And of course when we got to the first checkpoint... read complete review

Wednesday 23rd October 2013 - Interview Appointment for K-1 Visa
I travelled to the embassy by train, the Bond Street Station. It's about a 5 - 10 minute walk to the embassy and a nice straight forward route. I got to the embassy at about 7:30 am for my 8:30 time slot after dropping off my phone at Gould Pharmacy. I joined the queue outside where they asked to see my passport and interview letter before they usher you through the security hut. You then follow the building round to the right and go into the main doors where the reception desk will ask for your interview letter again and then give you your appointment number for the day. Once you have that, you head up the stairs on your left and go into the waiting area.
I wasn't expecting a short stay but it wasn't too bad overall. Upon sitting down it became clear there was a slight problem with their speaker system that was calling out the numbers, it kept cutting out and made it hard to understand, thou... read complete review

Hooray we were approved our visa today at the interview. Thank god. Ithe visa will be sent In about 10 days I was told. Got up really early around 5.00 to get ready. It was rainy today and silly me left my umbrella behind. Luckily when I got to the que there was a girl in front of me that was going for a visitors visa who was kind enough to share her umbrella with me.
The embassy was packed full of people all going for diffent visas. It's funny the k1 visa didn't move as quick as the other visas. AnY way after 40 mins of waiting I finally got called up to counter number 1. The lady was a nice Asian lady. She asked me for my interview letter and my number. Then asked me for my police cert and my 2 passport pics. Then my birth certificate. I gave her all of the stuff she asked. She then said where is your daughter. I had to explain again that she didn't come cos she won't be joining me till summer. So ... read complete review

Arrived outside the embassy around 6.40am and there was already a few people sitting on the benches outside the embassy.around 7am people started edging their way to the visa entrance .at 7.30am the grumpy English women everyone talks about arrived outside shouting to get everyone in line and telling people who are not going in the embassy to get out the line .I was the third in line and the first k1 visa in line .got into the embassy at 7.38am .I didn't have a watch on me but it must be around 8am I was called to the first window.I was pleased to see the smiley African American lady I've read so many good things about.she took all my documents whilst making small talk and when she came to take my financial support papers she realized my fiance was in the air force.she then told me she was in the air force for 22years and retired at mildenhall which was my finances last base before returning to the states.we then spent a few minutes talking about mildenhall, the air force and my financ... read complete review
