Ok, well I had planned to get there an hour before my interview, but I probably got there around half an hour before. It was quite easy to find from the hotel I stayed at the Lincoln House Hotel, pretty much a straight road to it.
As I walked past the embassy towards the huts where security directs you, I saw an armed policeman, he smiled and said Good Morning, which was nice!! I went through security in the space of around 5 minutes, they seem to allow people in groups of around 4. The receptionist then gives you a number and you go up the stairs and take a seat. I thought I would be there for quite a while, but I was called within the hour.
They seem to have different codes some beginning with I, N, V, E. I was an I most seemed to be N. No idea what it means but I suspect it might be different type visas. My number was called and I proceeded to the booth that they asked me to go to. There was a young guy, polite and friendly enough. He asked me for... read complete review

My experience was pretty much the same as those who've posted previously - I would advise the following:
1) Get there early. I was in and out in 70 minutes, so it pays to arrive as early as possible - I was in at 7:47 and out just before 9!
2) Know where your documents are: Have them ordered and ready, be prepared! And take copies. You will then get the originals back.
3) Don't panic! It was a breeze. If you have everything in order, you'll be through quickly. I ws I902, and I think the lady everyone mentions on here was who I got - she is genuinely friendly, very chatty and relaxed. She even pretended to hesitate, I think she does it to break the tension because she seems to love making people happy :-)
And 4) You now apparently CAN take in your cellphone. I suppose I should get used to calling it that. But they specifically mentioned it in the line today, and there were signs all around saying to switch them off at the windo... read complete review

So I'll start from the second I woke up.
I got up and got freshened and dressed smart for the interview, shirt tie and trousers etc.
My train from lincoln to London was at 5:26am and I arrived at kings cross at 7:31am, from kings cross I decided to walk I know a lot of people get the tube but I had over two hours to ki so I walked it did some shopping. Anyway it got to 8:30 I was just checking out the area around the embassy, at 8:40am I went and dropped my electronics at goulds, it cost me £3 for them to keep it but I saw a lady in front left her laptop and that cost her £5 so I think it varies on size. After that I headed back to the embassy and lined up where the ladies outside the embassy check your ds 160 and appointment letter and tell you to go line up to get searched, after being searched you go round the right of the building where the two receptionists then take your ds160 again and give you a ticket number. And that number is what you have to listen and wat... read complete review
