(I am the petitioner) We arrived to the embassy promptly at 7.30am for an 8am appt. We had a bit of a wait outside in the cold and got through security by 7.55. We were given our number, which looked to be the 15th "I" number of the day. It seems they processed about 20 "I" numbers whilst we were there, where the "N" numbers moved much, much, quicker. We took a seat and waited, and at about 9.45 my husband's number was finally called, he gave in his paperwork and pay and then came back to sit down about 10 minutes later. He was then called again at about 10.35 for the interview, which consisted of a very lovely woman asking him where we met, how long we had been married, and when I entered the UK. We weren't asked for any supporting evidence or anything like that, but we have been married for 8 years, and we had prepared evidence and photos in any case. When the interviewer was reviewing the documents, she told my husband that I had actually filled in one form incorrectly. I filled in the I-864EZ when I should have used the I-864. Essentially I should not have used the I-864EZ form as I don't have W2's, having worked in the UK for the past 8 years. Whoops. Easy to see now, but in the visa prep madness (looking at forms 5 million times each) I somehow over looked this. In any case, we were very lucky to have such a nice interviewer, because when my husband mentioned that I was actually there with him, she sent him back to the waiting area to grab me, and I came up to the counter with him. She explained what was wrong with the form (everything was filled in correctly, it was just the wrong form) printed me a copy of the new form and said I could fill it in there. She was very reassuring at this point, saying everything in our application looked great and was on track to be approved, she just needed this one form (I-864) complete. After a minor heart attack, I went back to the wait area, nervously and cautiously filled in the new form, and went back to the counter when it was ready. She checked the form through twice and then smiled and said, "Congratulations, your visa has been approved!" We went and paid for the courier service around the other side of the embassy (£8.85 for delivery before 6pm, and they would deliver to my husband's work address)and we were out of there by 11.15am. I've checked our CEAC tracker today and the status has already changed to ISSUED! Woohoo! javascript:emoticon(' ') Overall, we found everyone inside the embassy extremely nice and helpful. We've had good record of communication with the embassy to date, receiving replies to our emails within 5 workings days and I am extremely grateful we were able to DCF in London.
