So I've got to the embassy at 6:50 for the 8:00 appointment.. There were some people waiting already, in about 20 minutes some became many. Embassy workers separated people by Non visa and visa queues, and later by appointment times. I was lucky to be in first ones to get in embassy. I was in the waiting room by 7:40 I guess. From 8:00 numbers started appearing, and I've submitted my papers soonish (they didn't need any copies as it was stated in instructions, and even some papers I've got were not needed).. I liked the fact that numbers were appearing in big screen so it was easy to see them. To the interview you was called, so it's important to start listening, because for me it was a bit unclear. I don't know why, but I expected interview to be in separate room, but it was at window of same type as if you would be in a bank. I personally found it less stressful, but it was a bit hard to hear her sometimes... The lady asking questions looked a bit too serious and too picky in the be... read complete review

Interview was straightforward. We were asked the following:
When and where did you meet?
When did you physically meet for the first time ?
Where is your spouse from originally?
How long has your spouse been in the states?
What university did your spouse attend in the states?
Where is your spouse currently living?
When do you intend to travel to the states?
That was it and then the visa was approved.

The following is the first hand account of my husband's interview. He is the beneficiary.
Interview day at the U.S Embassy in London, Myself and my Son.
Was a nice day so we walked there and arrived at 8am (appointment was for 9am). We thought we'd be super early and have to hang out in the square garden, but already the queue was 100 yards long, the full length of the building. There were two of them and a third starting up. These are for various time slots so don't just join one. Make sure you find the relevant queue for your time slot. We did so and even being an hour early there was 10-20 people in front of us on the 9am line. What I would say though is that 99% of people there are having non immigrant visas issued who have no specific time slot, and we were hurried into the building once they found out we were on an immigrant visa which is a much stricter time. So I would suggest approaching the people checking documents at the front of the queues to... read complete review

I arrived in London the day before my interview and to see how far the embassy was in conjunction to the hotel I was staying at. As I settled in for the night and tried to relax I soon realised I couldn't as just loads of what if's where running through my mind. I know everyone says relax and it's easy to say that but when it's the unknown then it makes it hard. My interview was at 9am I planned on setting off around 7:30 and taking a slow stroll to the embassy as it was a 30 min walk away. 4am my alarm was set as I planned on speaking to my partner prior to it... It was now 1am and I hadn't slept a wink!
I got to the embassy at 8:12am and was told "go to the front of the line" a lady took my interview letter and passport put one inside the other and said go to the security guard and he'll wave you straight over. He took my passport and interview letter and started to read it... He then started double checking things, looked at my photo and told me to stand back so he c... read complete review
