Took the 536am train from Doncaster to Kings Cross – arriving at 7:31am approx.
Needed the bathroom, a word of advice they charge 30p at the station to use the facilities :o
Got a cab and was on route to the embassy, so far so good, taxi fare from Kings Cross is around £15 the journey took around 15 minutes.

On arrival they was already two lines formed, one for 8am, one for 830, I joined the later as my appointment wasn’t until 9am. Within 5 minutes a lady walked the line to check our times, another line was formed for 9am’s, great I was fourth in line for this one 

Again the same lady came down asking which visa’s we have, K1 I informed her, she said go see that guy there he’ll get you straight through :D, so that was it front on the line and ready to go through the security scan. So struggling to put my belt back on I rounded the corner and climbed the steps. The receptionist looked at my appointment letter and issued a number starting with the letter I

I found a seat, at this time there were plenty, the display board starting pinging displaying numbers, mostly starting with the letters N and E, and window numbers.
After what I would say a 90 minute wait my number popped up, this was it, I stopped at the allotted window and was asked for various documents, finger prints taken and he disappeared for a second, I could see him walking down the room, he came back with our file, which was about an inch thick. He said that’s ok, go talk a seat and await your number called, I enquired how long do you think that will be, maybe 30 – 45 minutes.

Arriving back in the hall it was now SUPER full, I found a seat near the back, in hindsight, not a good place to be as there are people stood up in front of you blocking sight of the illusive notice board.

40 minutes later *PING*, off I went, this time a different window, finger prints taken just from the right hand and I was sworn in, there were some tricky questions but nothing untoward, this was as he was thumbing through our folder, so I guess they are spontaneous and not premeditated. He handed me my xray cd from the medical and said “Congratulations and welcome to America” I couldn’t stop beaming, I repeated thank you, thank you. He said your documents will be back to you in 10 days, good luck.

That was it
