Our experience at the Madrid embassy has been really positive. Officers there are really nice and helpful and overall the whole process was really quick and smooth. The day of the interview we had to wait a long time, but that might have been because they were busy after the holiday season (everybody goes on vacation in August in Spain).

Madrid is so fast and easy!!! We got temporarily approved the day we turned in the I-130. Temporarily as they needed to do a background check on me in the US after the Adam Walsh's law. We turned in our I 230 part one on the same day as well. We mailed the form saying we were ready for our interview the same day. Background check was cleared in 3 days. We got our interview date for 5 weeks later. Went to the interview, was asked only this "are you married to an American?" Reply: yes. "Ok your visa has been approved, it will arrive in 10 days." No need to show proof of relationship either.

Very fast process!!!

I had the appointment at 10am, but didn’t get to the embassy until 10:30am because I had to pick up the results of the medical interview. I waited for 30 minutes and then gave all the documents to a Spanish guy. I waited for 1½ hours while they were checking that everything was ok with the documents. After that, I talked with an American guy who told me that my visa k-1 was approved after asking me some questions. For example, he asked me to briefly tell the story of our relationship and what I will do for work, along with some other general question. This was all! I received the VISA 2 days later at my home!

My fiancee is an Algerian citizen who has been living in Spain for 2 years (without permenant residency). His interview went very well. He was called to the desk where they took all his forms and a letter from me confirming the engagement. He offered them photos, cards, phone logs, but they did not want any of that stuff.

He waited for 2 hours then was called for the interview. They took his fingerprints then started the interview. The questions were pretty easy - How did you meet, What does your fiancee do, Why are you here in Spain, What language do you use to communicate. They asked about the police report, and he explained that because he does not have permenant residency, he could not obtain one. Then he was told that they were going to have to call me (the USC) first before issuing the visa.

Please make sure to call the embassy to get the relevent info. I was told by many people in the US that the Spanish Embassy would not interview people wh... read complete review

I got there at like 9, my app was at 10 so my mom and I went for a coffee first and then i got inside.

I went through security, then reception and was given a ticket with a number. After about 15 mins I was called to a counter where a very nice woman welcomed me and started to ask me for the forms, the pics, the birth certificate, letter from employer and everything else...

She had a check list and i had everything but the tax info from Eric, but she said it was ok and everything was good. She told me to sit down again and wait to be called for the actual interview.

Two hours and 15 mins later, I was called to another counter where the consul was making the interview, and it took about 2 mins

The interview was exactly like this:

CO: hi, good morning Maria

me: good morning

CO: put your finger there...left hand first, then right

All this was in spanish so after that ... read complete review
