On the 24th of July, I was set to have my interview for my K1 Visa at the Singapore Embassy.
My interview was stated to be at 9:30am and I reached the Embassy at around 9:15 - 9:20 am if I am not wrong.
Exited the taxi and was instructed by the security guard to enter a security screening room with the X-ray machine. I had to walk through the scanner and my belongings had to go through the scanner- standard procedure. My smartphone and earpiece had to be held by the staff and I was given a token to collect it later.
Then, I was led to a vertical walkway up to the main entrance of the embassy where I had to go to another similar security checkpoint with the same scanners. The exact same procedure was done, and then onto a bank teller esque room where the interview was to be held. I found people’s reviews on their experiences at the embassy useful so I guess it’s only right for me to share my experience so hopefully, others can benefit from it.
Appointment was at 9:30am, arrived at 9:10am. Told the guard house that I was there for K visa interview. Guard collected my handphone, smart watch and headphones and was given a token to collect my belongings later. Bag went through an x-Ray machine and I had to walk through one as well.
Another metal detector/X-ray machine thing that I had to walk through again once I entered the building.
Entered the visa interview room and it was packed. There was a queue but was told to sit and wait for my name to be called from Counter 8. Waited for about 40mins before my name was called. Submitted my passport, original birth cert, police COC, form I-134, fiancé’s tax returns and 2x passport photos. Scheduled quite quickly, bad attitude though, she informed them that embassy scheduled interview only seven days from medical and they told her that the embassy can wait. She called Fullerton after 10 days and they were giving her the runaround and told her that it hasn’t been 10 days yet and they will get it to embassy sometime that week... seems Fullerton is pretty conceited. Anyway, medical results were good and she got her immunizations... received visa 13 days after interview. K2 will do interview and medical in Manila later this year... embassy will schedule interview as they feel and are not willing to reschedule unless you want to be put on the back of the list... will just have to take your 221G and wait... all in all great outcome for us.. just can’t speed things up like you can in Manila . Medical was on the 3rd interview was on the 10th

The embassy was very organized, professional and efficient. My wife's appointment was at 8:45am. I arrived with her and our son at 8:30am. My wife was called at about 9:15am after a couple of others before her to go to window 7. I helped her carry all of our supporting documents but was instructed to stand aside as it was my wife's interview. Spouses are allowed to be there but I respected the request and moved with our son to the back of the room. The guy at window 7 went through her documentation and said everything was in order.
A bit later a lady called my wife to window 6, had her swear that everything she said would be truthful. My wife remembers the following questions:
- When did you meet your husband?
- When did he move to Singapore?
- When did you get married?
- Have you been to the USA before and when?
- When was your son born?
