Hello all,
Interview took place on 9/10/2007, at 7:30am. I just wanted to give the good news in a post in this forum that J's K1 visa has been approved. She had her interview on Monday morning her time, or Sunday night my time, and it went very smoothly and quickly. We were expecting her to be at the embassy for many hours waiting, but she had gotten back home and had told me the good news by 9:46pm my time last night. We had both read horror stories about the Manila embassy and questions used to manipulate or confuse people, and also downright mean CO's. However, J gave me a description of her process yesterday as well as the questions she was asked, and nothing bad that I or she had heard or read on here and other places came true. I think the most interesting question they asked her that I didn't think to "rehearse" her on was when she was asked if I had told her about the difference in weather here versus there in the Phils. It's just the sitting time that was hard. Hungry and thirsty too. Otherwise, the interview went quick and straightforward.

Overall the interview experience went well. She told me that the prescreener asked more questions than the COs did. The prescreener took all the required forms. My fiancee had two CO that interviewed her--we think it was because one was training the other. She wasn't the only one with two CO conducting interviews. They asked only three questions. The CO then stamped "DONE" on the paperwork. She was given a pink slip. From the security guards to the prescreener to the COs, all were very courteous and nice.
Sites like this have only helped prepare everyone with doing well with the interview experience. Being well prepared was the key to having a smooth and successful interview and that is what this site is all about.

my fiance showed up at us embassy in manila about 5:30 am her interview was scheduled at 7:00 am she was the 38th person in line first part when she went to she the filipino ask for her papers she told me he was very rude and stern with her but she bit her tongue and just smiled. When it came time for the us consulated she was interviewed by a woman who was very kind the only document she was missing was her daughters birth certifcate which worried my fiance but the consulate assured her just bring in the next day with her passport and she will pass she did as she was told and 17 days had visa in hand so all in all it was ok other than the first filipino she had to deal with maybe a little jelousy i dont know so i will have to rate 4 instead of a 5
