Hello everyone!

Well, it is now 2:38 pm on June 10, 2011 and we got home about an hour ago from the embassy. I really didn't know what to expect. I never had any plans to go abroad until I met my fiance. Anyway, here is my experience.

My fiance came with me to the interview, which I am really thankful for. We got there at 5am. There was a line already, but it wasn't that long. I wasn't surprised to see many people selling ballpens and buggering you. They actually try to scare you by saying, "Do you have this or that?" then you double think to see if you DO have it. Just make sure you are ready when you get there.

Don't forget:

- documents
- passport
- appointment letter
- 2x2 pictures
- black pen
- Don't bring any electronics, no food or drinks. We just bought our papers and a wallet, that's it. Just don't bring anything. It's less stress for everyone.

They started letting peop... read complete review

My schedule was 6:30 AM, June 2, 2011. I was up as early as 3:00 AM, to pray and eat (GUYS, PLEASE DO EAT, THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT!), then get ready. I arrived at the embassy, a little past 5 AM, and there was already 3 long lines; I queued at the Immigrants' line. They started letting people in around 6:15 AM, and when it was my turn, they asked for a) Passport b) Appointment confirmation. They will give you a slip that you will need to fill out and give to the 2GO counter if your visa is approved - DON'T LOSE THIS, THIS DETERMINES WHERE YOUR PASSPORT WITH VISA WILL BE DELIVERED. Then we had to go through the XRAY (like that in airports). Please search the internet of what is prohibited inside the Embassy Inside, we had to queue again, took the ff: a) 2 copies of DS-156 b) 2 copies of DS 157 c) 1 copy of DS-156K d) Appointment confirmation and BPI receipt. They attached them together and told us to drop it at Window 39 inside the buiding. I was given the number 70... read complete review

Overall the interview process went quite well. People were professional and organized, though there was a lot of waiting time due to the huge number of applicants. I won't go through the whole process, others have written about this before.

Some observations and suggestions about my own experience:

- No proper pedestrian lane in front of the embassy which is pretty dangerous for those arriving from across the street. But a guard told me they will complete an overpass soon.

- My appointment was at 6:30, I arrived at 5:45, and was all done by 9:30. I don't think you need to arrive earlier than I did. Once they open the doors at 6:00 am the line moves pretty fast.

- I paid my visa fee online with BPI, as this was one of the options given. I only got an email confirmation, no receipt. At least 2 of the staff I dealt with were not familiar with this and had to call maybe their supervisor to check on this. Luckily I brought my ba... read complete review

Monday has always been a good start for a week. That is the main reason why I chose May 23, 2011 to be my interview date. I got up very early on that day, like 45 minutes past the hour of 1am, was so excited and pretty nervous at the same time.

I arrived at the embassy 1hr & 15mins before my scheduled appointment. Well, our friends here in VJ were right that we should be there early so not to cause any problems in entering the embassy premises. All applicants applying for Immigrant visas were asked to form one line (since I'm applying for K-1, it’s an immigrant visa) as well as those for Non-Immigrant. While waiting for my passport, eligibility letter and confirmation sheet to be checked, I prepared my DS-Forms and my visa fee receipt to be given to the employee whose going to take all that I mentioned above (except for my passport cause the pre-screener was the one who asked for it) and gives you a number (my number was 7005), went inside the embassy building. You mu... read complete review
