Review Topic: K1 Visa

We got a 6:45 AM appointment time and we were done before 8:30 AM.

The questions asked were very basic (name, birth dates, when and where did you meet, petitioners address in the USA, number of previous marriages, if I have ever traveled to another country, and for the son, he was asked if he plans to work or return to school once in the USA).

The documents they asked for were the:
-Original birth certificates (of beneficiaries) and Original Cenomar.
-NBI Clearances, plus in our case, Taiwan Police Clearance
-Medical Result (brown envelope)
-Original receipts from BPI bank for the Visa Fee payments
-I-134 Affidavit of Support and last years tax return
-Court records for a prior court case (dismissed)
-and of course, the Interview Appointment letter and DS-160 Confirmation page

We did get a 221g for the NBI letter, but we knew that going in, as only the Embassy can request it from the NBI and t... read complete review

Interview Date: May 25, 2016 at 6:45am
Over-all experience was great! Everything went smoothly and all the US Embassy Manila staff was very friendly and accommodating. It’s important to always wear your smile and be confident in answering their questions. It pays if you do a lot of practice question and answer with your fiancé/husband. It help you boost your self-esteem that whatever they will be asking to you, you will be able to answer it with accuracy and confidence.

Here are the questions they asked me, it covers all steps from prescreening to final interview.
1.What is my full name and fiancé’s full name?
2.What is my birth date? His birth date?
3.How old am I? How old is my fiancé?
4.How did we meet? When?
5.How many days he stayed while visiting me?
6.When did he propose?
7.What is his work?
8.Has he been married before?
9.How many times?
10.How many kids? I was asked to state k... read complete review

Review Topic: Direct Consular Filing

MAY 23, 2016

My USC husband and I went to my interview schedule at the US Embassy in Manila. Over-all experience was smooth. We got there around 7:15AM for our 7:30AM appointment, just in time coz they just started letting people in for 7:30AM sched.

Since we're doing CR1 via DCF, it has been a pretty fast-paced journey for us, even the interview. Everything was done at the ground floor.

You fall in line outside in the "Immigrant Visa" lane, show your passport, appointment letter and DS-260 confirmation page. They put your passport in a resealable plastic bag which you carry with you until the final step.

Then inside, you get scanned, get your bag checked.

You go to a booth to get a number. Proceed to Window 38.

Step1a: Data entry/review

Step1b: Fingerscanning

Step2: Pre-screening + Payment of IV FEE $325

Step3: Oath-taking

Step4: Inter... read complete review
