Review Topic: K1 Visa

We got a 6:45 AM appointment time and we were done before 8:30 AM.

The questions asked were very basic (name, birth dates, when and where did you meet, petitioners address in the USA, number of previous marriages, if I have ever traveled to another country, and for the son, he was asked if he plans to work or return to school once in the USA).

The documents they asked for were the:
-Original birth certificates (of beneficiaries) and Original Cenomar.
-NBI Clearances, plus in our case, Taiwan Police Clearance
-Medical Result (brown envelope)
-Original receipts from BPI bank for the Visa Fee payments
-I-134 Affidavit of Support and last years tax return
-Court records for a prior court case (dismissed)
-and of course, the Interview Appointment letter and DS-160 Confirmation page

We did get a 221g for the NBI letter, but we knew that going in, as only the Embassy can request it from the NBI and they only do that after the interview.

The process was organized and well executed. Everyone was friendly and helpful and demonstrated patience and understanding. And this was on a Friday before a three-day (Memorial day) weekend.

We were told to anticipate delivery of the visas in 10 to 14 days.
