Consul issue a 221(g) do to a missing document!
This is a K1 visa only for a single mother and Consul wanted to see child Birth Certificate, it does make sense to include, but since it was not required initially and we dont to like to "answer what was not asked" it was not include on pack nor available at the interview.
Consul returned passport, Form 221(g) and instructions on how to send the document as follow.
1. Request birth certificate to be sent to USEM
2. Wait for results
3. Send passport to USEM
But we decide to take the risk to skip/modify the steps and we did the following:
1. Request the child Birth Certificate in person
2. Send Passport and Birth Certificate using 2Go carrier
Within one week the consulate did the following
1. Received
2. Review
3. Issue a visa

My fiance's interview was on 12/20 said the process was very smooth. His sister had gone with him and waited outside with his phone and such so he could tell me the results as soon as it was over. The first window was quick and just asked for the CENOMAR, Affidavit of Support and NBI Clearance. Then waited for about 30 minutes for bio and another 30 to speak to the officer. He only asked basic questions of name, partners' name how we meet and that's about it. Interview was only a few minutes and was approved.javascript:emoticon(' ')
The status for the visa did not change until the following Wednesday (closed for the Christmas holidays) to Administrative Processing and was Issued that Friday. It was delivered to 2go on the 2nd at MOA. We booked a flight for him to arrive to the US on the 11th since beginning of year travel is very heavy and difficult to get good flights.
