I was a quite easy and pleasant experience. A male interviewer asked me very regular questions.
1. what is your fiance's name?
2. How did you meet?
3. what did you do in your first visit?
4. when do you plan to get married?
5. what does he do?
6. when was his last visit?
he did not even take a look at any financial documents. I guess that he might already reviewed it before calling me.

I want to submit this review not only for interview but for whole process after NVC.
Before Interview:
The embassy uses packet 3 and sends it through mail by using Japanese Post office, which means if you are in the Tokyo area (首都åœ) it will reach you the next day. The day they send you the packet 3 your case status "ready" will have its case update date updated (this sounded weird...)
*Important for those who changed address (beneficiary): If you are using Japan postal forwarding services from your old address it will still get to you. I found this easier then trying to update my address through embassy.
They do want some items to be sent back;
in general cases:
-DS-160 confirmation page
-2 pictures
-copy of Bio page of the current passport
-copy of any previous US visas
however you cannot (should not) send these till you receive your packet, because they want the page to ... read complete review

As expected, my experience with this consulate was topnotch.
I arrived with my USC husband, all my paperwork and then some in a binder.
No delays at all! It's been a while since I did the interview before I started writing this review. But, what I do remember is he only had one question for me... how long have we been married. I said, "About 2 years."
And that was it. I got the visa!

Based on my Fiancee's explanation of her experience, the process was easy.
We over prepared. She had K1 affidavit of support, copy of original K1 submission, updated intent to marry letter, recent chat records, medical records and a plethora of pictures from her visits to the US and mine to Japan that we did while the K1 was processing.
She is still learning English, but we practiced basic questions such as "What is his name? Where was he born? What does he do for work? Where does he live? How did you meet?"
She arrived at the Embassy about a half-hour before her appointment, then waited only 15 minutes after her appointment time to get called in. She said they check her paperwork, asked her four basic questions about me and took her passport. The entire process was done in a little over an hour.
Friendly and professional, the Embassy was great.
