Note that this interview experience happened during the COVID pandemic.
tl;dr Just the review: It was what I expected, and everything went over according to how we researched and prepared prior to, with thanks to VJ.
The detailed account:
The initial security building is separate from the main round building. I arrived about eight minutes before my appointment time. At the security building, I first had to give my name through the outside speaker so they could look it up on a list of appointments for that day. They confirmed my name, then asked the standard COVID questions. I passed, and they let me enter through the door to the right of the window, physically meeting security.
It was standard airport security. I had to put everything I came with into a tray to go through an x-ray scanner. I was prepared for this and only had my binder of documents and my belt to put in. I still managed to set off the metal detector somehow (weddin... read complete review

I am now the proud bearer of a piece of paper that says “Congratulations! Your immigrant visa has been approved.†I had my interview in the Dublin embassy on March 26th, 2021 and here’s how it went:
Once inside you take off your belt, jacket, and empty your pockets. You put electronics, liquids and coins in a tray, and walk through a metal detector. It’s just like a normal airport routine. Then you have to put your phone and liquids in a lock box. The lock boxes are quite small, but you’re not supposed to bring any other electronics to the embassy so it makes sense. The guards give you a visitor’s lanyard to wear and you take the key to your lock box with you.
Once you walk across the courtyard, the guard at the main building will ask you what you are there for, and direct you to the right hand side for K1 visas. I’d been to the embassy a few times before for visas, but this time it looked so different! The r... read complete review
