Fast, efficient, friendly and nice staffs.
4 people were in my group, all of us were there for IV interview.
We were waiting in the line & came to the 1st locket. The staff in the 1st locket was a sweet Indonesian lady. She pre checked our documents and passports and asked some questions. If you previously had US visitor visas, you better bring your old passports. Questions she asked like: have you lived abroad before, have you visited US before? When was the last time you visit US? I greeted her in Indonesian so we spoke Indonesian. She asked my original documents, passports and 1 pc 5x5 photo. After finished, we were asked to wait for an interview with the consular in the same room but different locket.
The consular that interviewed us is a nice US gentleman. His questions were:
1. How long have you've been married?
2. Where did you meet your spouse and how did you know him?
3. When did you married and where?
4. Have you been married... read complete review

Generally the staff at the embassy in Jakarta are friendly and helpful. Experience is a little mixed but mostly very positive. The one negative was when my wife (fiance at the time) interviewed for a tourist visa; she said the interviewer was rather rude, didn't look at any of the documents she had brought and only asked a couple of questions before denying her. Our other experiences have been great; I went there once to use the notary services before our marriage and we went again for my wife's CR1 visa interview. The staff let me into the embassy without question, even though I was not formally invited to attend. The initial check in was ok - the woman checking documents was a little brusque but not rude. The interviewer was very friendly and warm, and although we had brought lots of documents he didn't ask to see many of them, and once we showed him the photos from our first meeting, two other trips together, and our wedding, he seemed quite satisfied that we were legitimate and she... read complete review

I arrived at the US Embassy 40 minutes before the scheduled interview time. Of course I had to wait outside, but me being the 2nd in line had the advantage of finishing earlier. The security in front was friendly, they first asked me to show my passport and the interview appointment letter and told me to wait.
After waiting, we were told to go into the building for the interview.
On the first window, I was asked to hand in the documents: Original passport, birth certificate (original & photocopy), and translation (if it’s bilingual, the CO said no need for the translation), 2 US passport style photos, original CIMB receipt, DS-160 confirmation page, I-134, W2, and 1040. This is where it was weird, in the email from Embassy, we were not told to bring 1040 tax return, instead it was listed that we needed to bring just the latest IRS Tax Transcript and W2. Luckily, I brought the 1040 so my documents were complete. The two others who I talked to during ... read complete review

The interview went really well, the CO was really friendly. He only asked these questions :
1. Have you ever lived in any other country ? If you have, where ?
2. Have you or has your fiancè been married before ?
3. How did you guys meet ?
4. How many times did you meet in person ?
5. How did he propose ?
6. What are the your wedding plans ?
7. Did you read the pamphlet ? What is it about ?
Then he looked at the documents my fiancè submitted to USCIS and took a look at the proof of relationship and since I brought more recent ones, I asked him if he would like to see it and so he did, and he said 'this looks great. Congratulations ! Your visa has been approved. It may take 1 week until you can receive your passport.
One of the best days of my life. Thank you visajourney, you have been a great help

Process went well. Communicating with the US embassy in Jakarta is quite easy. They are friendly.
Most important part is to provide adequate proof and documentation. Take lots of pictures. There was another who was filing for K1 at the same time we were. They were rejected. Apparently the US fiance didn't like taking pictures when they met in person. This led to a problem later when they want to file the K1.
The interviewer was quite familiar with landmarks and places in California. Not sure if they are from there but, it made the interview process nicer since there was no doubt about where we had both been together.
If you are applying for the K1, I highly recommend not only meeting in Indonesia but also the US. If you can afford it, it will greatly help towards proving your relationship. Take lots of pictures! If you don't like to take them, too bad, you need to suck it up and do it! It's very important if you intend to go through the v... read complete review
