We passed the paper check. All our documents were in order. The first gentleman complimented us on being so well prepared. The interview itself was conducted by a senior officer and a trainee, so they tag teamed us. They interviewed us together and then separated us when they saw I was prompting Salatiel some of the answers. They seemed to have a prepared list of questions, I wish we had it to practice ahead of time. How did you meet? How long have you known each other? How much time have you spent together? Where did you have dinner saturday night? What kind of bed did you sleep in? Why did you stay in a hotel instead of his father's house(cold water!duh)? Do you have a favorite song? He struggled with 'where does she work'? (computers. He didn't seem to remember that I work for the government/IRS) What is her son's name? He said 'John' instead of 'Shawn'. I explained that there is no 'SH' in spanish and when he tries to say Shawn it comes out sounding like John. I couldn't rem... read complete review

We arrived at 7:15, all interviews are set for 7:30am. There was a huge line! Two actually. We checked in with the guard at the door and got in line to the right of the embassy (going downhill). There was only like two people behind us. We got inside just after 7:30, checked cell phones and went through the metal detectors. The visa waiting area is to the right past citizen services.
Checked in at t he ventanillas, showed interview letter, moved to a room with an american guy behind the window they took the letter and digital fingerprints. Then we sat down and waited. Names were called up to the ventanillas and a few were called to 5 which I guess was a small room to the side. The people being called up were missing documents I think, for ventanillas 1-3. About 11:00 they called him up, asked how we met, asked for 20 photos from dating time (we had to take them out of the album), marriage, and current, and they also asked for a new antecedentes De policia (his f... read complete review

I couldn't make it to the first appointment because of financial reasons but my husband said they asked where we met when we were married, and if we had children. He was denied because that is standard procedure and his I-601 waiver appointment is Tuesday, I am so nervous!

Made it in line by 0545 and was first in line for the immigrant visas. waited and turned in all of the required forms and paid the fees. My fiancé and her two daughters (15 and 16) were at the interview. Our interviewer was a younger American woman that was being trained, so he trainer was in the room as well. No problems with any of the questions - they were all softballs like "where did you meet? how long have you been together? what are his children's names?" - stuff like that.
However, we were tripped up on three pieces of paperwork. Since my finacee's oldest daughter turned 16 after we started this process, i failed to realize we needed a police certificate for her too... so we needed to go back to DNIC. we also did not have the correct form of the Honduran birth certificates. Everyone was born in a small village, and the long-form, handwritten certificates were all they had. But these are not the "forma literal" - so we need to go to the registry to get the corre... read complete review
