My husband's overall experience at the embassy was good, but I do have to say that some of the Honduran employees at the embassy are ridiculosly rude!!! He had a paperwork review on October 15, which went pretty well except that the agent (Honduran) kept asking for a W-2, which I do not have because I worked in Honduras for 7 years - all my tax transcipts were there, but I think the lady was confused with U.S. tax law. My husband witnessed several people being screamed at the window by the paperwork agents, (all Honduran) and said one woman next to him was actually shaking she was so scared.
The interview on the 27th went well, the officer (American) he said was very kind, and asked questions about how long we shared an apartment when I lived in Honduras, where we would be living in the States, what city did my parent's live in, when he planned on moving to the States, and how we met. Before the initial interview, he was called to a window where again he was asked abou... read complete review

I want to share my experience as someone with tattoos from the medical appointment to my appointment at the embassy. I have my arm and leg completely tattooed with a cover up of a tattoo that I didn't like. I called to scheduled my medical appointment on November, 3rd and it was scheduled with Dr. Fernándo Valerio for November, 15th and 16th. X-rays and laboratory were done on the first day and vaccines and physical exam on the second day. I spent 8,938 lempiras for x- rays, laboratory, physical exam and 4 vaccines. At the physical exam, I was asked what is the meaning of every tattoo and although I had a cover up they did not check it with an ultraviolet light as some people suspect. It is worth mentioning that I brought a certificate letter from the tattoo shop I had my tattoos done. I called the doctor on December, 5th to confirm that my exams had been sent to the embassy. My appointment was December, 8th at 8:15am. I had everything organized in a dark blue filing folder, but sec... read complete review

Process for IR5 visa was smooth, all documents were requested at rhe door and the whole process from entrance to exit was done in around 30-40 min. The consul was very friendly and respectful. Visa was approved and in 4 days the passport was ready for pick up at the Puerto Cortes office.

The embassy has been very difficult to contact or receive any kind of answers or support from. However, the interview process was very seamless and quick. We showed up about 45 minutes prior to the interview and waited outside. We couldn't bring any devices with us, and I was not allowed to attend the interview with my husband. Once he was called in, he was out in about 20 minutes.
