Our appointment was at 10 am. We had to take the train to Frankfurt, got there at 9 am and were able to make it in time using the U-Bahn U4 and bus 34 (since the U5 is currently still not running)
We left all our valuables, including phones, in a locker at the train station and paid 4€ for it.
It was a little hard to find the embassy for us without phone access, but the friendly owner of the kiosk pointed us in the right direction.
Once we got there, we waited in line (outside) for "all other visas" and quickly got our pass and were sent to wait in line for the first security officer. He gave us a plastic bag and advised us to put everything in it that we had on us (wallet, change, key to locker).
He didn't communicate it very well that we had to take a few steps forward after that to wait at the white line on he ground for someone to open the door for us and let us in for the next security check. ... read complete review

My interview was for 9.30am . At 9am I was at the security and it was smooth, everyone was nice. I got into the embassy, the lady gave me a ticket number,I waited for about 30 minutes for my number to be called. I went to the window, the man was very pleasant ,he checked my documents ,took my fingerprints and said everything was alright except that I need to provide a letter from my son father that he is aware that my son is traveling with me and I gave him the decision from the court that states that I have sole custody, then he said all is ok. He gave me the domestic violence paper and asked me to wait for my number to be called by the consular officer.
So I waited for about 1 hour before my number was called by the consular officer, he introduced himself and took my fingerprints and oat taking and his questions where:
1. When did you met your fiancé ?
2.when last did you see your fiancé ?
3. Was your fiancé born in the United States ?

I was inside the consulate for a total amount of 40 minutes.
I had my appointment at 9 am and there was nobody besides me at the 2 windows outside. Together with the short secruity check, before you enter the building for more secruity checks, it took not even two minutes to get in.
The secruity inside is basically the same procedure as the ones at airports.
After that, I finally went into the actual consulate buildung and directly to window 2 (KASSE) and paid the interview fee. I paid in Euro, so it was 293€. They also took my passport there.
Then I waited for maybe 10 minutes or 15 minutes and got called up to go the window with a case worker behind it. They talk you through your package and see if all the information you provided is correct.
After that, I waited for a little longer and finally had the interview.
The lady I talked to just asked me some easy questions such as: Where did you m... read complete review

Just got back from my Interview for our K-1 Visa. The whole experience was very pleasant. All officers were very nice and polite. I was in and out in less then an hour. When you get to the actual interview the officer is asking a couple questions and returns your original documents. I even received my pictures back we sent in with the original K-1 petition. People always worry about what to wear and I can say don't worry. the Girl infront of me wore shorts and a tanktop so i don't think there is any clothing restrictions LOL
