Staff is very friendly but strict. The immigration visa appointment took me about 2h. I was called to 2 separate counters. The first counter was about the documents. I needed the IRS tax return, they also took the most recent W-2, my birth certificate (OG and copy), police certificate (OG and copy), DS-160 (obviously). The second counter was the interview. They asked me when and how I and my fiancé met, what his occupation is, when I had last seen him, checked some photos and asked about them and then I was done. Took me all together about 2h and the experience was positive!

generally: person in front of me got really emotional. I got scared. They asked a few questions like where we met in person, where we met initially, where you work, where we intend to live and when we plan to get married. After that they asked if we are gonna have a ceremony if yes when but I think that was more small talk because they said "your petition is approved by the way"

While I'm waiting for my visa to be issued and delivered, here is my interview experience:
I received my IL on 28.11.2023, about a month after I was DQ'ed. The interview was scheduled for Jan 2nd at 9:30.
Advice no.1: Schedule the appointment for a med exam BEFORE you get an invitation letter with an appointment date inside—though they ask you not to do so, I know. There are only several doctors in Germany who can do this med exam, and they don't have that many appointments available. I booked 9 appointments right after I saw the DQ notice in my mailbox—after reading the forums here, I realized that many waited about 4 weeks for an interview date since they were DQ-ed. So I counted my chances to get a date somewhere in early Jan and scheduled a med exam for the second half of December. That was a right measurement at the end—when you get your invitation letter a month after, you can easily pick the best date for a med exam from those you already book... read complete review

We were a bit early and had to wait outside in queue.
Security decent and friendly.
More waiting inside.
The interview itself was at a counter and did not take to long. Some questions from the interviewers side, I had the possibility to ask a couple questions myself (When to expect to receive my passport back - 7days later)
Overall as good as an appointment in an embassy can be
