My fiance arrived at the Embassy. Her appointment was at 7:15AM. She ending up being #14 in line. She was a bit nervous after seeing some denied, one for the 2nd time! She had a woman interview. She was asked questions like are you currently engaged and when do you plan to marry. She said the woman was very pleasant and she Thanked them several times for the approval. They told her to return back in 2 days to get Visa. She returned and it was not ready. She went back the next day and all was fine. She happened to be there while the typhoon came inland. Much rain and windy. She did fine and is back home.

Our K1 journey is pretty fast takes less than 4 months.
I’ll skip the basic info except after P4 if you need anything let me know I will tell you.
I went to China right after P3 to stay with my fiancée, help her with the forms and get ready for interview.
We went to get the medical exam done in 06/28 Monday after we received P4, we went to United Family Heal care in Guangzhou, nice place, great service, you do need to wait a while because there are lots people, but everything is done before noon, exam reports can be pick up at 3PM in the afternoon.
During the waiting we went to the consulate, I attended the US citizen's hour as everyone suggested, if you have learned enough in VJ you don't really need any info from them, but they will note you attended it could help your case, so I show my passport to the security guard(you don't need to wait in line), went up to fifth floor(very confusing, lots people), went through secu... read complete review

This site and those who have shared their experiences were very helpful to myself and my fiance to navigate the K-1 visa process.... knowledge is power and all of that. We reached a happy milestone in getting a K-1 Visa (the interview was on June 10), and we wanted to share the information in case it would be helpful to others. Unfortunately, I was not able to be with my fiance Lucy when she went to Guangzhou for the interview, but did what I could to help her prepare and get her the materials that we felt were needed to be successful in getting a Visa. Though our experience with the interview was like that of some others, in that the interview was pretty short and the questions not too difficult, I think that is partly due to putting in the time and paying attention to details from the very beginning, from the time of preparing the application and all the materials that went with it for the USCIS, through preparing well for the interview. Though I feel good about the work that we... read complete review

I was not at the interview. The following is my SO's description of what happened. She arrived at the consulate at 7am and lined up in the immigrant line(the security guard will announce which line to go into, there were 4 lines total). At 7:30am the security guards started to let people in. She was directed with the rest of the people to the 4th floor. She went through a security check and had to hand in her cell phone. She was directed to the interview area and everybody has to recite a US vow. She was called by name to get her interview number. Then called by number to get fingerprinted and then called by number to hand in her paperwork (financial support, single certificate and birth certificate). Wait again and called again by her number to be interview by the SO. The VO was a very nice african american woman. She asked my SO when did we meet, where did we meet, what does she do for work, when we got engaged, and how we comminucate(not language but webcam site). Very... read complete review
