My appointment was at 9 AM.

I arrived the day before and stayed at L'Appartement on Sherbrooke. The hotel was a bit dated but I am glad I chose it. It is a 15-minute walk from Central Station, an 8-minute walk from the consulate, and across the street from Medisys. The staff at L'Appartement are extremely kind and speak fluent English. They granted me a late checkout of 1:00 PM, which allowed me to leave my bags in my room for free while I went to my interview. All of the rooms also have a full kitchen, which is great for people traveling with dietary restrictions.

I arrived at the consulate at 8:30 AM. As others have noted, it seems that the appointment time doesn't really matter -- they give you a number and you are called in that order. So arriving a bit early does seem to have some advantages.

You go through security where they take your phone. No food or drinks are allowed in the consulate. There are some vending machines after... read complete review

My Interview happened on Sept. 6th. I had read other reviews which were very helpful. I had to pick up my Medical package from Medysis the day of my interview. Medysis opens around 6:50am. If you have to pick up your medical the day of your interview, GO EARLY! By the time I walked to the consulate from Medysis, it was approx. 7:15 and there were already people lined up.

ENTRANCE
You will wait in line until a guard comes out and asks everyone to have the "interview appt. letter" and passport ready. You enter the entrance of the building, and wait for a person at a podium to enter details of your passport and interview information into the system, places a sticker on your passport and directs you to the security area. They also give you a plasticised paper, asking you to sort out your documents in a certain order when you get upstairs. This will have a number on it. I was number 10.

***Please note: no food or drinks are allo... read complete review

Short experience on my K-1 Visa Interview at Montreal.

Traveling to the embassy Appointment time - 0900 ~ Appointment date - 06/09/2017:
I took the taxi which costed 40$ going there from the (YUL) Airport. Currently there is construction before entering downtown which was not that bad. I could of took (24 hour) 747 Bus but was in a rush. Take it if you have plenty of hours before the time and want to save money.

Line up :
Arrived at the Embassy at 0730 , Walked all the way to the back of line and 20-25 people were ahead of me. 0745 Security starts letting people in. All phones must be off and no large bags were allowed as what the Security said before entering. Small side walk . Gotta be close against the wall for pedestrians can walk by. Passport , Appointment Letter , and Confirmation Sheet DS-160 is what I had given to the lady once entered the building , it was a tight space as people exit and enter the building that works there.. She ... read complete review

OK so the first thing is that the appointment times are like the points on whose line is it anyway... They do not matter at all. They appear to just be to stagger how many people arrive at once, because mine was for 7:30, there had been earlier appointment times (7:00) when I went to sign up on the website, and the doors didn't even open until 7:40ish. Some of the people in line before me were waiting for 8:00 appointments etc. They just let people in in the order they were standing in, no attempt to get earlier appointments in first, so yeah they don't appear to matter at all. You are allowed in after screening and receving a laminated sheet with instructions on what order to put your documents in. The officers doing the screening and X-ray of your items and person were polite but businesslike.

I waited for what felt like forever once you get upstairs to the consulate (19th floor) and at the first window you are called to (by number) a businesslike lady was just taking... read complete review

7:30 apt this morning Sept 6 2017, arrived 7:20 to a minor lineup already formed. Did not separate people per time apt, started to move us in a few at a time, passport and appointment print out, got my lucky number 11, which made me very very happy! Went up a few steps into doors for security screening, downstairs to elevators and up to the selected floor.. into waiting room with some insanely antsy people 😂
My number was called around 8:45, took about 15 minutes at the window, asked for documents in order of laminated sheet (do take time to put them in that order). Asked for payment receipt, passport, copy of passport, 2 passport photos, original and copy of birth certificate, medical (opened it, gave me my copy inside as well gave me a disc that was in there too of my X-ray results), petitioners letter of intent, i134 original with tax return and w2/ or irs transcript whichever you brought... didn't ask for any of his proof of domicile, but we did have it. That was i... read complete review
