My interview was on July 5th. My fiance and I arrived at the consulate about 6:45 and there were already 2 people in front of us. Within 15 minutes or so another 4 or 5 people arrived. By the time we were let in about 7:30 the line was almost to the corner. The 1st person in line was waiting for her whole family. She had a bunch of kids and a husband. By 7:30, the husband who had all the papers had still not arrived so they had to wait. This put me second in line. They checked our passport and confirmation email, then we got sent through security. We headed downstairs and waited near the elevator as close as we could to it. At 8 ish they allowed us all on the elevator. We tried to get to the back. Somehow another girl pushed her way through and was C1, then the girl who was first got C2 and I got C3. We were actually called up to the window first but since there are 4 windows all people between c 1-4 were called up at virtually the same time. The guy at my window took forever and we en... read complete review

Appointment was at 8:30 so we arrived at 7:15, we were 9th in line. Make sure not to bring a purse bigger than an envelope or they will make you take it to your hotel etc. My husband had to take my purse back to ours (it was the size of a file folder), but he had no problem meeting me inside after. We were let in shortly before 8. They bring you to the basement and then you are all led into an elevator and taken to the 19th floor. Once you arrive you are given a number. I was C-9. You are first called up to windows 1-4, they don't exactly go in order so don't be thrown off. (I was 9 so window 1 had number 1,5,9,13 etc, and window 2 had 2,6,10,14) so if another window finishes first a later number will be called on before you. This was the easiest part of the process, the consolate worker goes through your documents, confirms your address and where you currently work just the basics and makes sure all necessary documents are there.
After this you wait for windows 7 or 8. T... read complete review

My interview was scheduled for June 28th at 8:00 a.m. I drove from London, Ontario and all was fine except my GPS identified the wrong street for the hotel and I ended up driving around for quite sometime before a man I accosted in a mall helped me reprogram it for the right location. I pre-booked a room at the Travelodge on Boul. Rene Levesque Ouest. When I arrived there was no real place to park while I checked in - difficult to say the least. They also had no parking available late in the afternoon so I had to park at a government spot several doors down the street and at a cost of $27 for the night. The room was fine but the bed was rock hard. In the morning I was up at the crack of dawn and at 5:00 a.m. was unable to get hot water in the shower after running the water for 20 minutes or so. I finally gave that up. They also have no restaurant except a cafe that operates from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.n. for breakfast only. I would not recommend the Travelodge except that it is on... read complete review

My fiance D. and I drove up to Montreal, from Connecticut, the night before the interview. We had booked a hotel on hotwire.com and ended up getting, for 100$ + tax, a room at the Holiday Inn Midtown at 420 Sherbrooke West (right next door to Medisys, in case any of you need to pick up your medical results in the morning, or something). The location was perfect; it was literally a 5 minute walk from the Consulate.
After researching this website through and through for months, I knew that I wanted to get there early in the morning. My appointment was at 8am. We left the hotel around 6:40, crossed the street quickly to buy coffee and a banana, and off we were. At the Consulate, around 6:45am, there was already about 8 people standing in line (on the wrong side, it took everything in me not to stand first on the left side, hah!), some of which were the sponsors. We started talking to the couple in front of us, who were also there for a K1 - ends up he, the American, was a V... read complete review
