Make sure you register for courier services.......some people in line had to make a phone call to get registered..which slowed things down...and they were not allowed to enter the consulate.

I spent ~ 20min talking to people about our I-130 application...

The interview went very well and reading other reviews and tips (i.e. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/376791-montreal-consulate-my-experience/) were very helpful in the process. First, I showed up at the consulate at 7:00 and was the first in line. Getting there early helped me get to the elevators quickly and then to the back (like so many others have suggested) and then get the coveted C1 ticket.
Many of the papers are useless, but bring them anyways and even though they didn't ask for the extra photos I paid for, bring them too! Also, make sure you have a printout of your applicant summary because you need the Loomis reference ID and the fee receipt number, even though not on the checklist. Oh, and read the fingerprinting instructions while you are waiting at the first window to make sure all your papers are there, the people really appreciate it. The interview i... read complete review

I'm writing this a year later, so...we had our interview on September 23, 2011. We arrived at 6h45 and were first in line. Doors opened at 7h30.
In the waiting room, we placed ourselves right in front of the elevator. We could have been in-and-out of the consulate in maybe 90-min. had it not been for the odd procedure by a security guard - he randomly hand-picked the first group of people to go up the elevator. Guess he didn't like the look of us.
Instead we were among the last ones processed -it took us 5-hours - but it was really all just waiting time. We had no complications. Once upstairs on the 19th floor, we got ticket number C11.
We chatted with other couples, exchanging stories. It was actually kind of a nice to have a bit of time to punctuate our immigration journey up to that point.
The first time we were called up, a warm and friendly woman took my appointment letter, passport, and medical results. I was di... read complete review

I had a very good experience with my medical exam and interview
I had my medical exam on Monday morning with dr. Cheema. When I got there, the nurse took my letter with my name and case number on it, my passport and my vaccination records, and filled out the form. Asked me a few questions and then I sat down and waited to be called. A nurse took my weight and height and then dr cheema came in and performed the rest of the exam. He checks your vision, blood pressure, eyes, throat, checks for lumps on your stomach and lower stomach area and that's pretty much it. He also used to work in winnipeg (which is where I'm from) so he was super nice to me then they send you down the street for blood work and x-rays and then you're done. Takes only about an hour. Then you go pick up the results the next day
The morning of my interview, I arrived about 25 mins early. There are people outside the consulate that check your passport and then give you... read complete review

The interview was for my CR-1 Visa and my 18 year old’s CR-2 Visa.
We followed the map and advice on the thread by Saylin. Arrived early (first in line), sat near the elevator, stood at the back facing the rear door on the left, got in line for the cashier as instructed and got the coveted C1 ticket.
At the first window we had to provide the originals that were on the letter from the Embassy. They did not want any copies of anything and in fact gave me the NVC printouts (of our scans) as she put the original of that item on the file. She seemed a little flustered by some of the paperwork and hubby having a change of address but it went fairly smooth.
At the actual interview it was me, my teen & my hubby. He asked a few of the normal questions about our relationship and then asked me about my being in the military. I told him my release date and he asked what I was going to do now. We said that all depended on what he decided. He did... read complete review
