The interview went very well and reading other reviews and tips (i.e. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/376791-montreal-consulate-my-experience/) were very helpful in the process. First, I showed up at the consulate at 7:00 and was the first in line. Getting there early helped me get to the elevators quickly and then to the back (like so many others have suggested) and then get the coveted C1 ticket.
Many of the papers are useless, but bring them anyways and even though they didn't ask for the extra photos I paid for, bring them too! Also, make sure you have a printout of your applicant summary because you need the Loomis reference ID and the fee receipt number, even though not on the checklist. Oh, and read the fingerprinting instructions while you are waiting at the first window to make sure all your papers are there, the people really appreciate it. The interview itself was friendly and not stressful.
At the end, I was surprised at how quickly things went. Everything was completed within an hour from entering the building.
