Had very good experience with the Vancouver Consulate.

First Vancouver Medical: I saw Dr. Cheema in Surrey and it is very easy to get to by transit, so if you are coming without a car, don't worry about that, just google map directions. Buses go right by his office every 10-15 min on weekdays.

Medical was simple and straight forward. Mostly long medical history questions and then basic stats (height, weight, eye test, hearing etc).

They then will send you to a lab for xray and bloodwork. The lab is a 25 min walk / 5 min bus down the road.

Also discovered that if you call the Canada contact number on Dr. Cheema;s site, they answer that phone... They also answer emails though if you have questions.

bring you health care card, they may ask for it!

Consulate - Super easy to find too. Right by Burrard train station. Once I arrived, I had to wait outside for a bit until they were ready for my appointm... read complete review

Hello, I was approved today at the Montreal Consulate and I wanted to tell everyone about my experience. First off, even though I am from Montreal, I got lost getting there. The consulate is not super easy to find. If you are taking the metro/subway, stop at Square Victoria and get out at exit de la gauchetière. Google map gave me the longest way (not surprised!). I only recognized the building when I saw already 10 people lined up close to the building. I arrived around 7:40ish and got in right away.

Once you're in, there is a lady that will ask you your DS-160 confirmation page as well if you are registered with LOOMIS. I saw at least two people being turned away for not having it. Then the security tells you to wait for your turn at the security screening. Once it's your turn, you need to remove your jacket and everything in your jacket. I saw a couple of women with purses even though it CLEARLY said NO BAGS! They weren't turned away but it took longer at the securi... read complete review

Interview : Montreal at 740am Fri Jan 23.

Took Via train from Toronto to Montreal Jan22. All in all , train ride was pleasant enough.

Walked from Central Station and found the US Consulate ( 5mins walk. Located on Ste Alexandre and Rene Levesque West) then continued to the Holiday Inn Express on Rene Levesque East( another 15 to 20mins walk). Again, pleasant enough experience at this hotel, especially when they upgraded me to a suite(because I was a member of theirs?). Unfortunately did not spend enough time to enjoy the suite but it was like a nice sized one bedroom apartment.

Day of interview.. left room after 6am to the Consulate and of course no one was crazy enough to be there that early. Went across the street to Starbucks for warmth and breakfast. Headed over to the Consulate around 7am. It was not until 715 or so, more people came. You can tell who was for K1 by what they were holding ( big folders versus nothing. HA). I met 2 ... read complete review

I will start this review by saying the interview was the easiest part of this process and there is nothing to be stressed about. Other members have wrote detail reviews, read them and keep in mind few important points.

- no big bags or backpacks are allowed. They won't even let you throw your bag in garbage.

- Carry Canadian $10 bill in case the document collection lady wants more recent passport photos. There is a machine downstairs that only takes $10 bills.

- once you get out of elevator head straight to the desk of Visa Receptionists. They no longer give ticket numbers at window 14 on left.

I wasn't asked anything out of ordinary. Just how we met, when, and where. When did we get married? How often do we visit each other? who does the most of traveling to visit? And that's it, I was approved. Passport and the visa packet arrived on 3rd business day. javascript:emoticon('')
