The waiting process was a few hours, however it was painless.
The staff at the consulate know that everyone entering for interviews are nervous and they are immensely kind and helpful.
My appointment was scheduled for 9am.
I entered and was asked to remove all electronics and put them into a little locker. Took the elevator up to the first floor and sat down with my given numbers.
It took about 45m for me to be called for the first time. I was called up to a window to provide all of my documentation.
The officer requested:
- Passport
- Birth Certificate
- Appointment Confirmation (Showing that fees were paid)
- US Passport Style photos (2)
- Financial Support Documents
- Any additional documents of support...
The officer took all of my documents and advised me to return to my seat and the interview officer would call me up for the rest.
Around 11am I was finally called for my inte... read complete review

Our interview experience was fairly simple. My husbands appointment was on May 1st was 8:30 am. Don’t arrive too early as they will not let you in quickly. It was pouring rain that day, so be sure to come prepared for the weather as you will initially stand in line outside. They let him in around 8:45 and checked his passport and put a sticker on the back.
He was in the consulate for about an hour, if not that. When he was called up, they took his fingerprints and checked his documents. Then proceeded to the interview portion, which only took about 5 minutes. They basically asked him about me (his spouse), where we were going to live, why we were heading there, etc. They were very straight forward questions. Unfortunately they could not issue the visa that day because we had the wrong police report. They said it was common and to simply order one and mail it in with his passport. Everything else was good to go and that he was a clear cut case.
If this does happen... read complete review

Like most of the reviews the interview itself was what I had expected. I showed up a few minutes before the interview having already scoped out the building the day before (theres no exterior signage). There wasnt any line up so just had to wait for security to check everything out and then wait upstairs for my interview(s).
The first interview was with a lady who essentially just checked the paperwork to make sure it was all in order. I had a feeling they would ask for my wifes tax return which I had printed that morning so that was fortunate. I had 2 birth certificates one in english and one from my place of birth and thought I might be in a little trouble since it wasnt translated into English but since the other one was (birth abroad certificate) it wasnt a big issue.
The second interview was a little more in-depth and reviewed the DS-260 especially in the places where you might have run into a little trouble. I overstayed a visa and was denied entry o... read complete review

Had my interview on April 4th, 2023, and it went smoothly. We have benefited so much from the posts on VJ and decided to share our experience in as much detail as possible, hoping it can help people who are anxiously preparing for their upcoming interviews.^ ^
1. Location of the Montreal US Consulate:
No obvious sign from the outside. Only a small glass door. Best way to locate it - across the street from the Second Cup Cafe, and right next to the RBC bank.
We arrived in Montreal one day before the interview and walked to the Consulate from our hotel to familiarize ourselves about the route.
2. Arrival Time:
There’s absolutely no need to arrive more than 5 mins earlier than the scheduled time (as many posts suggested in this forum). People line up according to their appt time. Our appointment was at 10:15 am and by the time we arrived, the security was calling people whose appt time was 9:30 am. We waited about 15-20 mins be... read complete review
