No electronics (cell phones) or big bags. I only carried my folder of papers with me. I was lucky that my aunt lived near Vancouver and knew how to travel the skytrain, so she accompanied me there. She had to wait outside for me though when I went in. I did notice some parking garages down that street, but parking in Vancouver is very expensive. It was raining outside where we had to wait, so I had my raincoat on. My appointment was for 8am. I had left early to make sure I wasn't late and got there around 7am. You will have to wait outside until about 15 to 30 minutes until your appointment time. A person came out every 15 minutes calling out the appointment time they were accepting inside. They ask you to remove everything from pockets, take off jacket, watch, and place in bucket. They go through your passport and other papers, while you walk through metal detector. They hand you back your belongings and you go up in elevator where a guard escorts you. (If you need bathroom go bef... read complete review

My interview date was 2/17/2016 at 8:30am. Schedule doesn't matter. Go to embassy as early as possible. First come first served. Even if my schedule was 8:30 I had my interview around past 11am. There were around 25 people for the immigration interview. I got a number slip of 20. You want to fully prepare for your interview. Bring every paper they ask you to bring to the interview. I got an email before my interview. They asked me to bring specific papers that they didn't have on my case. Interview is really easy. If you can set an interview schedule that means you have no problem on your case. Good luck.

So my interview was scheduled for 10:30am. I got there around 9:45, and the lady at the front checked my interview letter, gave me a number (which is your number for the rest of the time there), then I went to security. They have little bins that they out your phone into, and give you a ticket to collect it when you're done. Security was quick, and then went on the elevator up to the 19th floor.
Once on the 19th floor, you go into the middle section for immigrant visas. I waited until around 10:15-10:20 until I was called to the first window for fingerprints and to have over the documents. Oddly enough, they only wanted the 2014 tax info (I also had 2012-2013). While I gave them the tax transcript for 2014, they also wanted the W2.
Then it was back sitting down for another 15 minutes or so before getting called up to the interview. I had the same guy many people have referenced - younger, brown hair, glasses. He was really nice, and after I gave my finge... read complete review

Everything went very smoothly on the day of the interview. My fiancé was there for support just in case (so glad he was, because I had forgotten the original Letter of Intent to Marry in the photocopier at home, and so they just had him sign the copy to turn it into the original).
The interview questions were mainly about my fiancé, his job, and making sure we actually are a couple and that we've actually met in person.
When the interview was over and I was approved, I'm pretty sure I was also told I'd be getting my passport back in about 72 HOURS. I waited 2 MONTHS!! Everyday I wondered whether I heard right, and why it was taking so long. It's impossible to get any clear answers whether you try calling or by email, so I thought that was pretty frustrating. Anyway I'm glad to have my visa issued. I understand it's case by case, but I just wished processing wasn't so inconsistent: after they tell you it's approved, why do some people wait 5 days and others 2 months... read complete review

Background: K1 visa filed in May 2015, got the NOA1/NOA2 way quicker than we thought. Interview was in February 2016.
Medical: It was at Medysis and the appointment was at 12:30. I got there at 12:15pm and they asked for
-passport
-packet 4 email
-consulate appointment confirmation
-vaccination records
They asked me to sit down to fill out a 5 page document about my medical history which didn't take long. I was called around 12:30 to take X-Rays which took about 15 mins. The doctor called me in around 1:30pm and did a quick 10 minutes physical exam (ears, eyes, reflexes, thyroid, etc). At 2:15pm I was called to take my weight/height/blood tests (had to get the flu shot) and was done before 2:30pm. (I had to remind them to take my 5 passport pictures before I left lol) & I was out the door by 2:45pm.
Interview: My appointment was at 9:30 and I got there at 9am. All I had with me was my documents, a book and keys in a pl... read complete review
