  1. What you havnt done is act on anything you talked about, actions speak louder than words. 2.6 years its time he gets creative and start making his own work, my parents are vendors at art festivals selling everything from snow cones to funnel cakes, not hard to set up and theres always a festival somewhere anyways just an idea message me if you want more info on how you can get started.

  2. Thanks a lot for your help— I think I have the lay of the land now.

The frustrating thing is that this whole process— all the paperwork, fees, anxiety, etc— is pretty much all just about creating a way for my increasingly-aged parents to see their grandchild without flying to Europe, to have Xmas together at their home, etc. It continually amazes me that there isn't a more sane way to accommodate this. But, then, we pretty much forfeited sanity as an option once my wife wound up with a prior overstay on her record.

Im confused, if you got a green card doesnt this mean that the overstay was forgiven? You cant overstay a greencard?

  3. I hate reading about couples who meet on filipanheart.com or whatever it is and then you see 40 or 50 yo men with little girls for fiancees. Its like buying a sex slave imo cause most filipina with these old men are trying to escape a bad place or hoping for a better life on the other side which isnt always the case. As for me i met my fiancee on a business trip to the cayman islands and i flew there 7 times over a 1 in a half yer period, I got to know her as a person not just chatting online but actually in person. I wasnt looking for a filipina or anyone for that matter it just so happened thats what she was when i met her, anyways look theres better ways to meet people than on a website thousands of miles away. If you want to find a filipina i say try the cayman islands first, its like little Philippines and youll find filipinas in about every store in Georgetown and atleast its a hell of a lot less expensive to fly visit and get to know them first.

    Nattychic,

This is the envelope that they give at US Embassy in Manila, I'm sure yours will be similar. Don't open at any dare or you may be turned back at POE for opened envelope. Listen to your instructions not what is here say......best of luck!

Im confused, ours looks like that but without the plastic bag over it does this mean someone opened our packet 3 before we received it?

  5. OK.. first.. you have never been married in the CATHOLIC church.. so no worries there.. Civil Divorce does not matter..

    HOWEVER>.

you were baptised.. CHECK 1!! what about first communion and confirmation?? that is check 2 & 3!?

you need all 3 sacraments before you can be married in the catholic church..

if yes to all three.. GO FOR IT

my better half is divorced Civily BUT she needs ANULLMENT from the Church that her FIRST marriage was not in Good Faith *he was a drunk*..

So we can get Married Civil no problem.. BUT Church wedding would have to wait until she gets it taken care of..

*you petition to annul at your parish.. BUT if they Deny you.. then you, appeal to the VATICAN!! that is not cheap!! like $1000!!

SOOOOOO.. do you have all three sacraments?!

if not.. then you can Enroll at a Catholic Church for RCIA *adult religious class*.. they normally start in August.. BUT i called around and a church let me in Jan... and i was Confirmed that Easter.. i already had the Other two..

ps.. the RCIA classes are for people coming to the CHURCH, Converting.. or Missing their Sacarments..

Yeah i know i still have to do 2 and 3 but not gonna do it unless its possible for me to marry her in the church, so my next question is why do i have to have my civil union annulled by the church if my civil union isn't recognized by the church?

  6. Ok so i am baptised catholic and my Fiancee is catholic, i was previously married and divorced Civily only and from what i have read the church doesnt recognize this as a marriage? my question is if i can still marry in the catholic church as my new future wife wants to do this and bear in mind we will also have a Civil ceremony first and later would like to do the Church ceremony in the Philippines.
