Ho is she signing at the end of all forms? with her new married Signature? or her maiden Signature?

The A# is located on the NOA 2 in the top right corner, i guess this made for a good discussion and hopefully will help other.

Ok so she didn't take your name on the marriage certificate? SSA, banks, etc etc, will require a document showing legal name change, such as a marriage license/certificate that has her old name and her new name, before they change her name on anything. There is no way to do it other than changing her name individually with each institution, but she must have the marriage certificate to do so. She won't be able to change her name without such proof. Who told you that she could change her name individually without a marriage certificate with her new name on it? That doesn't sound right.

From what I can understand here I believe the problem is that she never changed her name legally using the marriage certificate, so USCIS (and all other institutions) will not recognise her married name. She is still legally her old name.

You misunderstood, there is nowhere to put married name on the marriage application form in Florida and the gentleman at the court house said we would have to change everything at each institution after we were married. You are correct she hasnt changed her name with SSA because they said she needs her green card or EAD before they can do it. Oh well were filing everything for AOS with the married name well see what happens i guess.

The marriage certificate is her legal proof of name change, if she ha decided to use your name as her married name(and signed her married name), then that is the name she should use from now on, including AOS. There is one space in the forms where they ask for "name as it appears on the I-94", that is where she will use her maiden name, the rest is in her married name. Don't worry about USCIS being confused, they deal with it all the time.

If she had the TB Vaccine, like most Filipinos, she will come up positive for the skin test. There was no reason to have the medical redone.

Thank you all for your responses we had another medical done because the one done in Jamaica had the box Vaccine history incomplete checked so we thought this meant she needed another round of vacsines.

My wife had her medical in Jamaica but they only did an X-ray which they noted as negative, we thought she was missing a round of vaccines so i got her another medical stateside where the doctor asked if she had the TB skin test in which she answered no; so he administered one and it ended up being positive. He told her she didnt need another chest X-ray as the last one was fairly recent within 6 months so he filled out the I-693 where on page 2 he checked the box for (No class A or Class B TB) for the X-ray; but put Positive for the skin test that he did.

I guess my question is will the positive skin result have an effect on her AOS??

Yeah the guy at the window said they can only change the name to whatever is on the i-94 or her greencard/EAD so oh well for now though it kinda sucks because it will delay license and other issues.

My wife and i went to the SSA office today because she has a SS# from when she was here on a student work visa back in 2008 and we wanted to change her name associated with that SS# but were told we can not do that until she receives her EAD or Permanent resident status has anyone else had this issue or something similar where they needed EAD or GC before doing anything with a SS#?

My wife was here in 2008 for school training and worked in the U.S but she didnt file for a work permit personally as an agency filed all the papers for all the students. She doesnt know how to answer the questions regarding what office or the date and im guessing the date last enetered would be when she came to marry me and not when she worked here in 2008?

Call ups tell them your trying to track a package without a tracking # BUT YOU HAVE A RECEIPT AND KNOW THE DATES, THE RECEIPT MIGHT EVEN HAVE A RECEIPT # THEY CAN TRACK. Then tell the name name and address from which it was shipped and where it was going to, November isnt that far back most courier companies are required by law to to keep a paper trail for a certain period of time usually more than a year.

OMG im confused about this also, my fiancee had her vacs in Jamaica by the civil surgeon there but her record was sealed in an envelope that she gave to the IO during her interview. She never got the Vac records back and shell be arriving on Jan 14th, i know her Vac record is in the sealed do not open envelope but how can she get a copy of this???? It isn't ok for my daughter for the same reason that i didn't consider women 23 years older than me. I had no need for financial or any other kind of assistance to change my situation. My daughter most likely won't have that need either. It is mostly a joke to say that i'd be waiting at the door for an old man to come pick her up. The realistic chances of a young western woman with more going for her than looks ending up with an old man when she is 18-20 is extremely small.

Like i said, I don't really care what anyone else does or what the age difference is for other couples here. But if age really meant nothing, i think that we'd see more young guys dating older filipina women. I'm sure that someone can give me an example of it happening, but everyone knows that is is quite uncommon. In 4 years of living there, i don't think that i ever saw a foreigner with a filipina who was older than him. I'd expect that people claiming to be blind to age wouldn't always have the age difference fall in one direction.

I'm able to admit that i went in expecting to find a younger woman. I think that it is humorous that people claim that 'it just happened' yet it never happens that they end up with lola.

This i agree with, i have yet to see and older Filipina with a younger American man!

Bottom line, i was able to get what i sought after in the philippines and the chances of it happening here were not too great. But, i do think it is funny when people try to claim that age is 'respected' more there. My daughter will grow up with three passports and a lot more opportunity than her mother had. The chances of my daughter, educated, U.S., European, and Filipino passports in hand, will choose someone 23 years older than her is almost nil. Besides that, any middle-aged or elderly guy comes to the door looking for her, they have a big surprise waiting from dad.

So why is it good for the goose (You) but not for the gander (Your Daughter)? I dont have a set figure on age but think somewhere in the range of 15 years is ok it just seems like a good not too out there #, I myself set an age gap limit of 10 years when i hit 30 and happen to be 8 years older than my Fiancee 32 and 24, when i was 22 i wouldn't date anyone under 18 and when i was 25 i wouldn't date anyone under 20 mainly based on a maturity perspective.
