Thank you for your insight. I ended up going with my permanent address which is on my license.. I transferred college twice and can't remember all of my different temporary residences. I hope they don't question or ask for that info... it would be a hassle to rediscover.

Homosexuality is a choice - just as is heterosexuality or bisexuality. There is no such thing as a "gay gene" or a "straight gene." Nature or nuture? I believe it is nurture. Yes, I do acknowledge and understand there may be chemical imbalances, hormones, what-have-you at play and everyone has different 'urges,' yet we all have the choice to act upon our feelings, desires, urges. Have I wanted to kill my siblings growing up? Of course, but I chose not to. Similarly I fight the urge to speed. Do gays have desires to have sexual relationships with those of the same sex? Obviously - and they choose to act on it. This I find immoral.
For the argument that it is none of my business what activities others engage in, it is to an extent, especially regarding children. Homosexuals cannot procreate. Give me the BS that there are gay animals, but notice that they don't precreate either so what good are they to the animal kingdom...? I agree with Why_Me here where I do not want children impressioned by such immoral lifestyles - and my heart is saddened by those who are adopted by homosexual partners and are raised in a gay household. Given this, do not put words in my mouth that it is better to have orphans on the streets, I would rather the lesser of the two evils.

"Sexually wired differently" is a cop out, as a result their right which allegedly means nothing is a moot point.
Many citizens, myself included, have rights which do nothing for us. As a result should we get everything we want like children in a candy store? I think not.

How about along the southwestern area of the Dead Sea.. more specifically, where the city of Sodom used to stand. I think that'd be a safe bet today.

I do not believe or accept homosexuality to any extent - regardless of the marriage issue. My opnion should not illict hatred and ill will from others - what if I were to respond viciously as some on this board do? People just love to hate those who have a different view. Many enjoy calling anyone who views things differently a "bigot." I do not approve and I surely do not embrace homosexuality - I accept the individuals and I am tolerant - I do not accept the act.
Homos have the same rights as heteros. It is equal - they are free to marry of the opposite sex just as everyone else. In a similar sense, it is illegal for both gay and straight people to kill others. Or do you suggest we should grant "equality" to murderers as well and make that permissible? Aside from anyone's opinion on the issue - why should the government meddle in it? I agree with those referring to the legislation as political pandering... many NY senators have shared that they knew their constituents would not be pleased, but they voted regardless of this. So much for representing the people, eh?
I have lived in NY for most of my life - Amby, you are so sweet to think of my well being and suggest I leave to avoid seeing any gay hand holding... thank you. Would you mind picking up the relocation costs too then?

And another reason why some of us don't. It's not like we have an economy or budget to worry about yet instead the government is more interested in "holy matrimony" ... go figure.

I'm not willfully ignorant of anything. I understand what the thread title is trying to imply and am disputing it.
The problem with your couple argument is that couples as a group don't have rights. Individuals have rights. Some of those rights pertain to their ability to make agreements and relationships with other individuals who have the same rights. But that doesn't mean the couple has rights as a group beyond those afforded to its individual members.
I don't have to pretend anything. The right to marry an opposite sex partner may be meaningless to them but why does that matter? Most people find some of the rights that they have irrelevant. Similarly, most potential rights, if offered, would be considered irrelevant by a certain portion of the population.
Some people like guns. Other people like Marijuana. One is illegal in most states while the other isn't. That doesn't mean that one group is afforded more rights than the other. Both have the same rights. Those rights are just more valued by one group than the other.
If preference is taken into consideration, anyone can claim discrimination if he or she wants something that the law does not afford them, so long as there is someone else who doesn't want that thing. There is no analogous situation where preference is considered when determining if something is discriminatory.

Don't gays have the same rights and privileges as all? What right don't they have? They can marry members of the opposite sex the same as everyone else. They can't marry members of the same sex (in most states) which is also the same as everyone else.

Gee you have 1 hour aaww I am sorry but this infuriates me and you are upset because you can't get his Dad to expedite because he works for USCIS.
Somer people on here wait months and some years and they keep their relationship going because they love one another and want to be together. the time apart is a small drop in the bucket on the large scales of things when you will be together for the rest of your lives. Yu need to keep positive is all I know it is hard but it is worth it.

I expect the USCIS should be the lesser of your worries.
I'd imagine it's possible to get yet another K-1 visa petition approved with a waiver - the adjudicators are people too and have guidelines but also use their own discretion; this could be either really beneficial or hurtful to your situation. Hopefully someone with experience in multiple peitions in such a short amount of time comes along to help.
    Good luck.

Absolutely a lot of unknowns. Absolutely it is up to Mike. However, the OP asked for advice and options, not just yours. The advice and recommendation I gave was reasonable and legit. It had options in it not finality. It appeared to me he was looking for solutions, not giving up. So this would be the "next stone in the process" as he absolutely must be able to provide an affidavit of support (whether personally or with a co-sponsor) once his I-129F is approved and she is ready to apply for K1. I am well aware of the process having just gone through it myself. Where exactly are you in this process? So exactly what was your point? Just because I disagreed with your statement of telling him that he does not need a co-sponsor at this time brings out a polemic argument from you?

With all the love and respect I can muster, please stop. You haven't got a clue. Mike is likely to need to provide an affidavit of support within 90 days, meaning perhaps in a few as 30 days. He needs to be examining all his options and get his ducks in a row. Would you please stop posting about things you only have enough knowledge to speculate about. There are people here trying to help many others. Our time is better spent and we can do more good if we don't have to spend time correcting and responding to well wishing know-nothings like you.

This is what I'm objecting to. See what is in bold specifically.
I replied to this 3 hours ago and seen 95% of members agree (as I do) with not even a single picture you will not even receieve a NOA1, however you may receieve the NOA1 because that ONLY means they cashed your Non-Refundable Check. If you Fail to complete the Application for the 129-F in full with the basics. Any Member that tells you that you don't need pictures is a Self-Made Attourney and knows to much for their own good and don't care about you but wanna Act Smart. Well, thats BS. I'm not God, but I'll try and put myself in your shoes after thinking about it for 3 hours "What would I do"?
People with different opinions, more experience or better focused on when in the process something like photos become critical are not self-made attorneys any more than you are for having and expressing YOUR opinion.

Welcome to life - it's not fair. Our rights are not being "trashed." You are still entitled to your opinions, beliefs, life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness - and may love whoeever you like. However, it is a matter of national security when any individual seeks to immigrate to the United States. You as an individual must be judgmental on a day to day basis for your own survival, and the government needs to be judgmental in the same regard. Don't take it personally.
I hope you receive notice soon. Remain patient, stay positive. Don't play victim as a "hostage," try to live your life to the fullest regardless of USCIS - do you really want to look back and feel like you wasted all these months? I sure don't.
Monyfer -- best wishes to you as well. I can relate to you as having a more traditional relationship per se (in regards to meeting in person, 2 young unmarried and college educated professionals, living together extensively, not using an online site, broker, or the K-1 visa process as a litmus test) and my worst fear is that after going through everything appropriately we will be held up for some unknown reason.
    Good luck all.

So, why are you trying to expedite? There undoubtedly are many individuals who have been severely effected from this catastrophe who are alsowaiting on the USCIS, and you are going to try and jump on the bandwagon? *shakes head* My heart goes out to all those who have been effected - losing homes, loved ones, and life as they previously knew it, in Japan and beyond.
I'm not all fluffy and going to tell you good luck like others. This seems selfish to me and you are seeking to utilize the misfortune of others to your own benefit. Requesting an expedite due to the earthquake is completely different from your having to wait 6+ months. I do hope you get your NOA2 soon as you have clearly waited your turn and been patient for so long, but really frown upon such an expedite request.
