  1. The icing on the cake, for me, would be Matt Parkman popping his clogs. Unfortunately, he seems to be liked by everyone else so it's unlikely. B)

I had to look that one up. I don't like him either! But I heard he is a big player this season, so I guess we'll have to deal with it...

Everytime he is on I start muttering "Stupid Fat Hobbit" in a Gollum type voice. He just whines and moans, whines and moans. I wish that Niki had chucked him out of that window a bit harder...

That's too funny!! I thought I was the only one that didn't like him. He seems weird to me. I love Peter & Hiro!!!

Hewoooo New York! Yeah, I like Hiro too.

Did you know that the actor who plays Mr Bennet was Stephen Carrington in Dynasty all those years ago?

No, but he did look familiar.

I am soooo happy it is on tonight.

Wow! Now I can´t wait to go home and start watching the first season!!!!!! :D

I felt the same way. I was over my girls house and watched like 20 mins of the show. I was hooked from then!!! I started watching but it was a little confusing b/c I jumped in the middle of the season. Now I'm all caught up and cant' wait.

  6. First thing Andre did was buy this piece of junk stereo at a yard sale so he could rig it with all kinds of speakers and blow out our house. Beware...........................

I have a Bose surround sound system at home, and I swear I thought Tony was going to blow out my speakers  He's constantly turning it up and I'm constantly turning it back down

I love my music. WHen I'm at home I like to listen to some while I cook, clean and chill around the house.

  7. What do you think about this :( I got a reply from Scotland police today saying chris police report was mailed out sept 12 but it has not arrive but when the lady said the SCOTTISH reply was sent that date i was like hmmm wait i thought she said her check includes both England and Scotland!!! So i write her back and she says well they send it over to England too so i called England and how about they say they do not have him in their computer NOWHERE anyways they are checking on it with scotland. My question is , he was only there for 3 months so maybe i dont have to worry abt England???? He was in Scotland right after England for a few years. Next worry or concern is that he was over there this entire time on a passport!!! back in 2002 i do believe i have to check the forms Do you think this will at all come up in the interview or cause a problem :help:

I don't know if I'm much of a help but your SO situation sounds like my cousin. He was living in England for several yrs (want to say maybe 5), then him and girl went to JA so get married. Well the filed for him to get a visa and they were denied at the High Commissioner b/c he overstayed his time. However, he has a US visitor visa and he's in NY right now. I don't think they will affect him b/c it's two separate countries, but like I said before you might want to ask around.

Also according to NVC you don't need a police cert from a country unless you were there at least 6 months.

Yeh im completely worried about this as he did not have any form of visa while there in the UK he said that the government gave them some kind of papers to go to school and also got them housing, them meaning he and his kids mom. She is still there and in school. So im praying that this will not cause us any issue. He said something about filing for assylum? and that got denied? and he had to go home but how is it that the government let them stay and get them an apartment? about filing for assylum? and that got denied? This is not too clear to me and he says he has no papers from being there he threw them away. I get bits and pieces of the story each time i ask im gonna check one more time on this.

It sounds like he was there on a student visa. If he continued going school during that time and have documentation to show then he should be fine. I know someone that was on one while in JA and she recently got her papers (not sure of what's it's called there) but she's 100% legal now. She said she has to do some more ppwrk in a few years but for ok she is fine. She also has a visa to come to the states as well.

  9. He eats just about everything...probably more things then I will eat.

I thought I was going to have a problem feeding Neil too, but thank goodness he pretty much liked everything

The one thing that he had a big problem with was the fish, and that is his preference in meat.. I brought so many different types of fish and finally found one, he like talopia (sp?) The one thing he won't eat is spagetthi he doesn't like it at all, and that is one of my favorites.

Try making the spaghetti w/ corn beef instead of meat. When I was JA we used to eat it all the time and I also it here. My daughter loves it w/rice. Javon is strictly on his JA food and I don't mind it one bit. I don't think we will have any problems there.

  11. Hey Peeps!

I have been in so much rhaatid pain with my neck and shoulder. DAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNGGG!!!!! I have a small problem...my telephone company, Talk America, was changed to Cavetel recently. Well, I have began stockpiling my bills so that I will have records of the MANY calls to Jamaica. Well lo and behold...I have not been billed for any of my international calls since July! Awesome for my pockets...but bad for proof of ongoing relationship right?

The rep said she doesn't know if they will be able to find those calls, and if they can, they will be added to ONE bill! Cha! Will that be a problem to have all the calls since July billed on one bill for USCIS?

Good news is that my divorce should be finalized by November I think. I have to take a course though even though we have been separated for 3 years.

Are they saying if they can't find the calls then you won't get charged? If so I wouldn't worry about it, why pay for something in the past and then have this hefty phone bill to pay? Some ppl don't even send phone bills and if so maybe a couple months worth and that's not even needed until the interview. Some ppl send it in w/the petition but as long as you have other proof it's not that important. Just hold on to the ones you have from this day forward.

  12. Well color me pink! You're Jamaican?!!! Wow! You people sure know how to party huh? I love how you talk. Talk Jamaican for me and my friends. Awww..now...just a little?! No?? Not today? Okay then. Irie! Yeah Mon! Respect! Natural Mystic! I love Bob Marley! wwoooooooo-hoooooooo!!!!

*Jawi wearing tie-dyed Bob Marley Lion of Judah shirt...walking away singing One Love*

Have you guys seen this? It is the Mad White Jamaican on Youtube.

It is sooo crazy... he talks about how people steriotype .....

Yea he is a big thing. I read an article about him a few months ago on the net. I like him, he's funny.

  13. THIS WEEKEND:

I'll be resting and trying to heal so I can go back to work (since it looks like my doctor isn't taking me off of bedrest). Boring boring :(

Time for some good movies for the weekend!

I concur. I rented the entire 1st season of Heroes and have been watching it. I love that show!!! Does anyone know when the season starts?

I (L) Heroes!!! The new season starts next Monday at 9. I'll watch it online on Tuesday because nothing comes before Girlfriends and The Game on CW :lol:

I may watch Heroes tonight because the CW doesn't show Will & Grace anymore :crying:

The show is addictive!!! I was up to 4:00am last night watching it and now I'm tired at work  I have few more days to catch up b/c the season starts.

  14. Has anyone ever filed DCF through the US Embassy in Jamaica?

The reason I ask is that I see the benefits of it. I read that you dont necessarily need to live abroad to go DCF, the consulate could do it for you as a courtesy. Not sure the US is that courteous to Jamaicans though.

Anyway, My reasons for wanting to go DCF are because my working situation keeps changing. I really think God is putting our relationship to the test, and giving us these trials so that we can have that much of a sweeter victory is HIS name later. Am I confusing you? Well let me explain....

The week I got engaged I also got fired. I just came back from a JA visit and was beaming from my new engagement. Me and (now hubby) didnt know much about the visa options or process then, so we didnt know which visa we would do. I got fired from my job 3 days after returning from this trip. This put a damper in our plans, cause I couldnt file anything without a job. I had mortgages and insurance to pay and I needed to save for our wedding which we planned for this past August. I was out of work for 2 months. Eventually I found a job through a recruiter in my field. The job was temp to hire, but seemed very promising. It was very close to my house paid well, and I enjoyed the work. I had a plan to return to JA in Aug for my wedding and stay a month. I let the employer know that I would need to be gone a month. This of course is not normally ok, but since I was not a direct hire yet, I could make my schedule. Emplyer was fine with it, and completely understood my situation, of wanting to spend time with my husband who would not be with me for awhile due to immigration. Before leaving employer complemented me and said that they would like me to get on direct hire once they worked out the schedule and workload. Employer complemented my skills and everyone seemed to like me. They gave me a going away wedding party before my departure. Well I stayed my month in JA, got married and now I return to an email (on Friday) that the workload at said job has changed and my services are no longer needed. :crying: How can this be?!! I literally was reading it as I was on the phone with hubby during our first talk after my arrival back home from JA today. Talk about a stab in the heart and then a nice twist to follow!! I literally was a crying mess the entire trip home today and to read that email when I was on the phone with him, just shattered my heart and all my hopes and dreams of starting my visa filing.

How can I afford this new hefty CR1 fee now, and pay my bills. I used my savings for this 1 month trip and the wedding, and now I am without a job, without my husband and just plain sad sad sad. I have no idea when I can file now. I am just venting on here cause I am sure some of the Yardies may understand.

I feel like God is giving me a sign to move from LA to JA. Why would HE be making it this hard for us to even begin this whole US visa thing? Should I be the one moving and not hubby? We have talked about it many times. We both would much rather live in JA, but its alot harder and opportunities are better in the US. Am I going against Gods plan for us by trying to move hubby out here? Hence my DCF question.

    Has anyone gone DCF?

Does having mutiple jobs for short period of times on your app., look bad to the UCSIS when doing your avidavit of support?

If I have these breaks, will I look like I can support him?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    (L)

    Hi Marlita,

I agree w/everyone else on this matter weigh out your options and see what is best for you. Also please double check w/the Embassy if they do DCF b/c in 2005 I was told they discontinued that service. I think I was talking to Shemanya about it, I don't quite remember.

  15. Not much for me except working tomorrow and them MOVADO tomorrow night!!! My daughter is spending the weekend at my parents.

    Annnyywwwaayy! Gangsta fi life!

Girl have a great time  I am so jealous...please give me the wrapup after the show!

Girl it was wicked!!!! I haven't seen a crowd like that in Chicago in a loooonnnnngggg time. It was a dance/stage show inna one. He perform good and had the crowd hype even though there was a few songs ppl didn't know. One thing about Chicago is that it's a little slow in the dancehall scene. For that I felt that Movado had to perform even harder to grab their attention like I heard other artists have complained about. The other thing why dese dj hav fi stop de dance fi dem dancers dem. It's like dem a run de show....it just makes me sick sometimes.

  16. I'm the same way. When I was younger it was more fluent but now it comes and go depending on who I'm talking to. Many of Javon friends think I was born down there so they always tell me that can't understand the twang. They need me to talk right....I say I am and them just laugh. Then of course it all comes out.

I think what turns me off is, when people pick up that I am not from the States and I tell them I'm Jamaican, the response is "But you don't sound Jamaican". I'm like, what does a Jamaican sound like, since our motto is "Out of Many, One People", we don't all sound alike.

Well color me pink! You're Jamaican?!!! Wow! You people sure know how to party huh? I love how you talk. Talk Jamaican for me and my friends. Awww..now...just a little?! No?? Not today? Okay then. Irie! Yeah Mon! Respect! Natural Mystic! I love Bob Marley! wwoooooooo-hoooooooo!!!!

:lol: What use to get me were those who thought we live in trees!

Or the idiots talking about going back on the banana boat. I used to get tease for my accent as a child, it was crazy. At my night job someone ask me where I come from so I said Chicago. She said no where you really come from...so I said I really came from Evanston (north suburb). She was like nooooooo you sound like you come from the caribbean I said no I come from my mom which came from Jamaica. She was cracking up before she started saying "yea mon". I wanted to slap her so hard for being dumb!! Those sayings are sooooo old.

oooo going back on the banana boat would have p'd me off. I hate things like that. It's okay to show interest in someone but don't put them down at the same time. Ignorance.

When I go to Jamaica I get asked if I'm coolie (because of my natural hair texture without braids)...then I have been asked many many times if I was English....(kikiki). When I went to Negril for the first time with A...people kept asking if we were from Town. I kept responding no. He pulled me to the side and said if somebody asks again...not to say anything or say yes and he would cover the rest. LOL. I figured I was moving up in the world if Jamaicans thought I was from Kingston...LOL. My first trip...oh yeah...I was from America...definitely.

When I asked a Jamaican woman in Ochi why she asked if I was from "Town"...she said "Yuh gwaan like sey yuh easy man. Yuh vibes alrigh." I was so proud I started doing the "Tek wey yuhself"...she bussed out laughing and saying "wooooiiiieeee!!!!! Mi gyal yuh nuh easy." I don't know why my heart sang that day. I guess because "Jamaican ooman nuh beg nuh frien."

    Right!
