I do have to say that all you "Black Friday" shoppers SUCK!!!!! I work at Old Navy and I Hate the friday after Thanksgiving with a passion. While you probably see bargains and fun, I see running around like a chicken with my head cut off, everyone crabby, and rude customers making my life a nightmare. The most exhausting day of the year. Glad it will be my last.

My husband picks up his own health insurance TODAY!!! Woo hoo. I'm looking at December 23rd being the last day I work two jobs. Looking forward to some weekends again.

Funny that you guys should mention cornmeal porridge. I've been bugging Tony to make it for me - I've never had it before! He said he would so I bought the cornmeal and some condensed milk. 3 months later, they're still sitting in the cupboard and I still don't know what it tastes like I think I will try this recipe and try to make it myself. When he finally gets done, and I am starving, he gives me the bowl. I look at it an am like "hmmmm". I taste it and I'm like...."what the heck! This is basically cream of wheat just made with cornmeal!! Why did it take so long to make!?" So I say you can find a receipe online. To me it wasnt nothing special cause I been making my cream of wheat like that for years now. LOL!

I think this is because you were probably very well prepared. I think those that get questioned to death don't have much evidence or proof of relationship. Therefore, they have to 'prove' the relationship at the interview. Me and Tony were done in under 5 minutes also. Also, when the fiance/spouse attends too, they are also less likely to ask so many darn questions - usually.

It could be or maybe that he has been to the US several times before so he has nothing to gain by lying to the CO.

I am back from Jamaica I could not even go to sleep last night. I miss David so much. The good news is we got the visa The interview was a breeze. I have already post my experience under the embassy review. While David and I waited our turn to be interviewed we had the chance to listen in on several interviews. At any given time 4 or 5 interviews were going on at one time. From what I could hear no one was actually denied. But most had to come back with additional documentation. They were mostly family base visa...parent filing for children stuff like there. I also observed two spouse base visa interview.

1. The husband was there alone..the interview ask him how did he meet his spouse? Apparently a mutual friend set them up. She ask what date was your 1st call to your wife, where she stays when in Jamaica. The age of her kids, Had he every meet her parents. When and did he meet her parent. Who in his family has his wife met? Describe the wedding. Who attend on her side? on his side? She ask for pictures and it went on and on. He was sounding a little nervous but some how he made it thru and was approved. The same chick interview David and I. Before we were called she was the one person that we did not want to call us.

2. The wife was down there. A different lady interviewed this couple. She ask them a couple questions before the rep ask the wife to take sit away from Section C and ask the husband to pick uo the phone. When you talk into the phone no one can really hear what is being ask. The rep talked to him for about 7-10 minutes then the wife was called up and talk for about five minute alone. Finally both the wife and the husband was up there at that time David and I called to be interview. We were never seperated and we were finish only a minute or two after this couple. They got approved but it did appear they were ask tons of questions.

David is not coming up until the end of Oct. He has a lot of loose ends he has to tied down. Since I really want him here with out outstanding issues back in Jamaica I am okay with this timeframe. I will post his POE experience. Since he has been here three time already I don't see a need to fly down to come back with him.

But If i can get one of those dirt cheep ticket who knows.....

The Embassy has nothing to do w/USCIS. It just depends on the workload the at service center. Some adjudicators can process a file in less then 15 mins when others take longer. I always say to send as much as possible w/the initial application (esp couples going thru JA) it will prepare you better for the interview.

USA-Jamaica AKA David & Jenice got approved today!! I can't wait until she returns so that we can celebrate.

If party start at 10pm...mi not rolling up til 1 or 2am. I just went to my cousins wedding not too long ago suppose fi start at 4:30..I didn't get there til 5:30...she limo never pull up til 6:15pm!!!

Jammy, You are too damn funny...the scenarios ring so true for us as a people! Especially the late fees thing! Why do we have such an issue when it comes to doing ANYTHING on time...oh and I am speaking about myself too! My credit cards I pay on time...cause I'm too cheap to pay their crazy fees. But just going to an event and getting there on time is a problem! I am seriously always on BP time! And in JA. oh forget it...it's even worst. Like I'm not leaving to go to any function in JA, until at least an 2 hours after the start time! It's crazy , but I always seem to be getting there with the crowd!

I feel you on that! My ex-husband was African-American and bwoy that was a mess! He hated being around my family, couldn't understand why my family was so important to me. Hated the food, Couldn't stand the music, thought the culture and history were #######...so I basically gave up all things Yard & tried to change who I was for him. So eventually that didn't work cause I didn't recognize myself anymore. The crazy thing was I didn't even realize I had done it until I met Ken.

I tell Ken all the time...I am so happy you're a Yardie and he looks at me crazy , then smiles and says 'Seen' ! I honestly don't think I could ever be with a non-Jamaican man again. I almost hate myself for saying it (cause it does sound rather ignorant), but it's the truth...my family, food, music, culture and history are just way too important to me...it is me!

Gill I feel the same way. I never dated outside of my race but have been w/ ppl w/ different nationalities (Jamaican, Belizean, African, Bahamian, and Haitian) but I have to admit I always knew when it was time to settle down it would always be a JA'n. When I was younger I use to try to talk to African-American men but we didn't have anything in common, never had anything serious never got to that point. It was weird and some thought I just love foreign men. It wasn't that but it just seemed like we could connect on a different level. A couple of my cousins moved to CA and ME and recently came back. They both say this family is too JA'n, so I asked what is that suppose to mean. I figure they must thing ppl should change b/c they not in JA anymore, but it's us...it's who we are and I'm not ashame of it at all!!

No I didn't get a chance b/c I had to work last night. I do have it on my DVR to I will watch it later this week along w/ Prison Break.

I'll be watching it online later this week or on SciFi network (I think they replay it on Friday and the following Monday afternoon). If I didn't feel compelled to get caught up on VJ, I would be watching it right now

nope it must be a great show u guys mentioned it several times im have to add that to the list of tivo shows my fav is greys anatomy and they have a spinoff starting from that on Wed called private practice, taye diggs is in , all his tv shows seem to get canceled!

LOL ...you are too Funny, JA! But it's true Taye does seem to be the kiss of death to tv series. I like Grey's Anatomy too. But I haven't been keeping up on it lately...you know the deal..too busy working and we don't have tivo out here yet

The Heroes symbol... started with the Kensei (Japanese story) and means the evolution of beings into 'Heroes' the full extent of the symbol has not been revealed completely yet.

The little girl is not the cops daughter. She was found and protected by the cop and Mohinder Suresh (Professor's son), because she has the ability to track down all other 'Heroes' wherever they maybe in the world. So, it looks like the symbol is going to play a big part in this season.

I am very excited about it...it looks as if the second season is going to be just as good as the first!

Do pre-existing medical conditions follow from Jamaica to the US? A's daughter is currently hospitalized and may have a heart condition. We want to bring her here...but I'm afraid that she will not be able to be covered under my medical coverage if they find out she already had the heart condition. Do you have any idea on whether the medical exam in Kingston for the visa will include this info?

Never heard of it being included, even if it WERE, there is no way the insurance company could find out from the USCIS.

Jamaica doesn't have a centralized medical system, there is no way the insurance company can check even if they tried.

When my husband added me to his insurance, there was no question asked, I guess it depends on the insurance company if they even ask ANY questions....

Being added to an ins plan is ok, but when the person goes to the doctor it can be a different story. Basically it boils down to the ICD9 code (diagnosis). Depending on that it can be part of the pre-existing clause and yes every ins is different. The Benefit Coordinator is the person who will be able to tell you once they screen your benefits.

Im not sure about this one, I enjoyed it but there is soooo much going on. How are they going to tie it all together. Will be interesting to see.

Journeyman following it seems pretty good too.

I watched half of journeyman but admit I wandered off halfway through and never went back. Dunno about that one, I might download it and give it another chance. Problem is, TV channels drop new shows that don't perform well after only a few episodes, I don't want to get into it and then have it taken off the air.

Yea FOX is good for that so I have decided to stay away from all new shows on that network UNLESS there's nothing else on.
