Dahnlor got a reaction from Adventine in Ukraine: my wife still will not evacuate
I understand how you feel. My wife is in Kherson.

Every year she goes for several months at a time to care for her elderly parents. This year was no different, and she was planning to return in April. Since the invasion, we've only had contact by email, and haven't heard from her since Friday morning. Her last message warned me about phone service and Internet being shut down, so at least I know why I haven't heard from her, but my fear for her safety can still be overwhelming.

Prayers for your wife and mother-in-law.  Prayers for Ukraine.

Wow, I just got the text and email notifications that my case status has updated:
"On May 2, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)."
    !!!!!!!!!!!!
That was much sooner than expected, considering I mailed my RFE back just last week.

Progress on my RFE! The hardcopy arrived on Saturday, 2 days after the official update. As I expected, it said "The petitioner is advised to submit a copy of the front pages of passport showing name as well as pages of stamped entry to the Ukraine.(sic)" That, an a full page of "if"s, footnotes, and repeating the relevant guidelines, complete with all of the special cases that didn't apply to me.
I already had all of the pages of my passport scanned and ready to print, so it took next to no time to have the requested documentation ready to go, and I left it in the capable hands of the USPS today.
    (crossing fingers)
