My fiance has not yet received his packet (which is needed for medical exams). I called the Visa Information Center of the US Embassy at 1-877-804-5402 and requested a duplicate packet. My fiance should pick it up from consulate on Monday, February 28. I now wonder if the medical results will be ready in time for our interview...

Yeah, we are in the same boat with our interview date 7 days earlier. Edouardo has to pick his up the same day and rush over to get the medical at 1pm. Plus, I fly in that night. They said they will process everything at the medical ASAP and send directly to embassy. We will see how that goes! lol. I will let you know how it goes for us.

Hi! Yes, unfortunately K1 visas can be denied. CR1 visas can be denied, too. There is no guarantee about this process at all...

I am both excited and nervous about our upcoming interview at the Santo Domingo consulate. Ignorance is bliss! Maybe if I had not read so many denial horror stories I would not be as nervous!

Hey! Thanks for posting the interview review. Funny thing that the term "sanky panky" came up, we will probably get that question, too! It seems as though the consul was more relaxed after knowing you were in PeaceCorps, I hope I find a consul who has a liking for interpreters or university professors! LOL!

You are welcome, you better call soon and often because they have been scheduling interviews rather quickly (they have not been taking around 3 months to schedule appointments as they had in the recent past).

Call the DOS visa specialist at
202-663-1225. They can tell you if the packet has been sent out to your fiance and if an interview has been scheduled. Good luck!

I just found out my interview date and Kikapoo was approved! It is a GREAT day for us both!

I am glad I have been calling the visa specialist every day. I was just informed of my fiance's interview date: March 9 at 6 AM! Super lucky because I will arive in the afternoon of March 8 to Santo Domingo!
