You see, in the view of some, the baby - or his parents - ought to take personal responsibility for the condition the infant is in and earn his privilege to receive the necessary care to live. It's not like the baby has a right to live once he left the womb.

I can accept reality and I can be critical of Obama. The HCR doesn't go nearly far enough nor does it address the disastrous cost curve enough. It's a start but it's not enough. The reality of it is, though, that anything beyond what we have wasn't feasible because the medical industrial complex continues to control Washington, D.C. As it stands, this is all that could be achieved and it sure is better than retaining the status quo. Aside from that I am also critical of Obama's support for the supposed immigration reform initiative that came out of the Senate. What I don't do - unlike you - is blindly criticize everything the administration does. So, when you gain the ability to appreciate reality, then we'll talk.

I don't have any messiah. I do not support, nor have I ever supported any immigration reform package that puts amnesty for the illegal aliens in the country today front and center and just puts some feel good decoration around it to make it palatable. You know that. And it doesn't matter who tries to sell it. I want to see the flow of illegal immigration stopped - by pulling the economic opportunity plug - and let those here illegally self deport. What remains, you put on a bus and wave farewell.

No, Paul. The provision is the law of the land today. It was signed by the President on Tuesday. The provision which Wyden discusses is part of the very bill the states are looking to sue over. Which shows that rather than studying the content of the law, they took their cues from Hoax News and went on suing. It's like suing the builder of your home for depriving you of the liberty to leave your house while, really, you just refuse to use the fcuking door the builder put in there for to leave at your own convenience. If that ain't an embarrassment and a testimony of incompetence on part of the attorneys general, then I don't know what is. Frenzied idiots.

Yes, but this kind of obstructionism is new. There's no precedent for it.

The right thing? Such as the death panels they invented? Pulling the plug on grandma? Yeah, I'm sure that was the right thing to do.

It won't. The unemployment rate isn't going to be this bad forever. And your short-sighted strategery will get you into hot water once decent employers become an alternative for the staff you are looking to slave around. They'll run and they won't come back. A reputation is a hard thing to build and an easy thing to lose. Ask the folks at Toyota.

Yeah, so I'm going. Booked my ticket last weekend.
The final straw was my last phone conversation with my daughter who told me this: "Daddy, when the airplane comes, I am coming home because I really miss you". My heart melted and I went online and booked my flight.

Look here, cowboy, I'm not impressed with the "revolutionaries" here that dangle their supposed firepower as an argument. Ain't working with me. It's very unconvincing on top of being less than civilized. To the guards of yesterday I say, go to the caves of Afghanistan. They love yesterday there. It's all they do.
    One can only hope.

Medical malpractice makes up a fraction of a percent of the health care system cost. It's not the silver bullet to fixing the rising cost as some would make you believe. Attacking the fee-for-service scheme which rewards quantity over quality, on the other hand, would be a promising approach. Last I looked, the bill provides for pilot projects in that direction.

Mr. Big Dog got a reaction from LaL in YEs or NO, will Health care pass? Post your prediction now!
You should have one then already. You bought a war you didn't want. You buy health insurance for your old age that you don't want - and that may possibly never get to utilize. Hell, maybe you even bought a space program that you don't want. You get to buy all kinds of stuff that you don't want and yet, you've done it for as long as you pay taxes. What's all this hysteria about all of a sudden? You're gonna pop a valve if you're not careful. But fortunately, after today's historic vote, you'll have health insurance that must cover your resulting medical bills.

The lack of other second language options might actually be a valid concern. And I can see the segregation issue that arises. The question more generally then is whether charter schools based on certain ethnic definitions should be promoted or approved. There's a fair amount of pro's and con's to consider...

I've asked before, but never really gotten a concise and understandable answer. What are the goals of the current health care build and what specific measures does it implement to achieve those goals? Nobody that I know is against health care reform in general. The system is clearly broken and needs to be fixed. But I don't hear any explanation of what this bill is and what it is designed to do.
