I have been checking on this forum for at least 3 months but I have not had a chance to register until today. Well, It was a few days ago when I read these comments from two new green card holder of America where they were planning their way back to the countries because it is SAFER for them and their families.

I believe this forum is intended for people that are going through a legal process where they left their native homeland because they are working towards achieving the American dream. America is a free country so whoever is not happy can leave and look for a better life elsewhere.

I have a question for these complaining people that feel SAFER in their countries as they stated on the forum. They just feel the need to complain and complain and try to rain on our parade.

What are you doing here and why are you wasting homeland security time and tax payer money trying to be a citizen? Did you just realize that the USA was not Candy land? Don’t you research before you completely move your life?

I just going to forget about these comments and enter to the forum. Maybe, BenAna or anyone in the forum can answer my question.

BenAna and forum, my application was received by USCIS on 05/16, biometrics was done on 06/27 and I have not heard from them as of now. Maybe people like new complaining US green card holder are causing delays for us! My last touch was on 09/28 and I am anxious to get my approval

I will go to my country for Christmas and I am would like to know the experience of you guys coming back to the US on expired green card and extended letter. I have not been out the country since I submitted my I751 back on May 2012.

I'm sorry if you were offended by the comments made by previous posters. But I don't blame them for how they are feeling. The tragedy happened in CT was horrible and it did make so many people feel unsure about many things, especially for those who are from safe countries with children. And I don't think they are wasting tax payers money for trying to get green card for any way, since we do pay so much money for doing this. It is not that American government is helping us pay for it...I wish they did And I highly doubt that they are causing the delay...

Anyways, I'm here to help you ease your nerve about coming back with your expired green card. I went on honeymoon in August with expired green card and I had no problem coming back in. The custom at the LAX knew exactly what the letter was for I hope this information helps!

I think I misplaced my Bio letter so I couldn't/can't check my case online so I'm not sure it has been changed...

It's looking pretty bad for us guys. There's been a major slowdown in CSC approvals after mid August and it seems to be getting even slower. I don't think we'll hear anything until mid-November. Hope I am wrong.

Well, we can travel and we can work, so don't worry too much and don't use your energy in negative things We know those officers work on their paces regardless of what we want...

Hopefully, we'll start receiving the good news soon!

Bora Bora was just amazing!!! I'll send you a message because I'm afraid I'll go on forever on this topic here and bother other people haha

I know this is really off topic, but how was Bora Bora? Did you go through an agency or book your own trip? Any tips?

My husband and I wanted to do Bora Bora for our honeymoon, but decided we couldn't afford it. I think we'll go in a year now that we've saved some money.

Just a quick report on traveling with Expired GC along with the Notice of Action.

My hubby and I went on our belated honeymoon to Bora Bora and came back yesterday.

I had no problem with check-in in Tahiti Int'l Airport. The lady asked me for my passport and GC and then told me that the card is expired. I intentionally just showed those two documents in the beginning. Then, showed her the letter explaining that it states my GC has been extended.

At the LAX airport, I had no problem neither. The officer said "your GC has been extended, right?" while looking at my letter and I said yes.

That's it. It was super easy

You should definitely contact them. You should've not only receive NOA but also the Biometrics letter too!

I'm new to the May 2012 Filers group. I mailed my I-751 package on 22 May. The cheque was cashed but I haven't received a NOA or anything from USCIS. I was looking at the list for May 2012 filers and I should definitely have received a NOA by now so I'm getting really worried I guess I'm going to have to wait until Monday now to call USCIS and find out what is happening.

Just finished my biometric appointment this morning.

No waiting and entire process took about 10-15 mins.

When I left the facility, there were about 5 groups waiting... I got there on a perfect timing

This is the beginning of waiting, I guess...

This week has been a great week for many of us!!! Hopefully, we are going to see more Bio Appt schedule for the rest of the week and next week

The NOA says to wait until you get Bio App Letter for the online update.

The letter should have number that works with the website, not the NOA1.

Is anyone else who received their NOA1 unable to add it to their USCIS website portfolio via their Application Receipt Number:? I know it takes a few days for their system to catch up, but it's been awhile now and still I'm getting:

Finally received NOA1 yesterday 6/9/12; date on the notice said "Receipt Date: 05/21/2012. Yet the postage stamp on the envelope shows 06/06/2012. Anyway, it's good that we got the NOA1 at least. Now just wait for the biometric appointment notice...

My sis-in-law texted me a picture of a letter from immigration.

(We have our hubby's house as mailing address, which his sis and parents are renting from him right now.)

Hopefully it is our NOA or even Biometric Appt letter...

I can't wait to stop by the house to pick up the letter!

I realized some banks takes a couple of extra days process cashed checks.

Give them a couple more days and you'll be the smiley one

We booked our late honeymoon for September without much considering about this issue...

Now the we paid half of the trip, we are going for sure!!

If there is any problem getting on the plane to come back, I guess I'll stay there until my 10 year green card is issued lol

I am scared of running into issues like this one later this year when I travel. I will be going to Peru in October and since I doubt I'll have anything official by then I will be traveling with my NOA. You can't expect everyone to know how things work around here so I think it's bound to happen. I plan on contacting the airline and asking for advice in this matter.

Nelson, what ended up happening to your friend? How did he or she get around this issue?

On another note, I went to my biometrics appointment today. Got there a little early and was in and out in a matter of 10 minutes. Now I'm hoping I see some movement in my case.
