    Thanks Beth for the update!!

I can't wait to see another touch on my case...

I'm running out of patinece now :(

  2. Thank you! This is all really helpful information. I am so tired of my job that I wish getting the EAD would be an overnight gig. Anyway, am going to send in the EAD app today. If it doesn't hurt to send it, and it's free- then why not.

    :)

I totally understand how you feel...

You'll lose nothing by applying EAD so you definitely should!

    Good luck :star:

  3. hEY! Thanks for this post! It's really helpful. It confirms what I heard.

So...I am on the same boat as you. BURNED out. Hate my job. And am THIS close to quitting. But we can't afford for just one income.

How soon does one get their EAD after submitting the paperwork. AND...if you get approved for the Green Card, then that acts as authorization to work anywhere, correct? So- to rephrase- if I work through till I get my green card and DON'T submit the 765- does that mean that when i get the GC, that i will be able to use that as work auth? Or do I HAVE to submit the EAD regardless?

Yeah- Didn't get a lawyer for all this filing. Can you tell?

THanks again!!! Happy FOURTH of JULY!!!!

    :)

Hope you had a great Forth of July :)

Regarding the EAD, it usually takes 2-3 months after the submitting of application.

However, if you get Green Card approved, you wouldn't need EAD becuase Green Card will allow you to work anywhere you like.

I know a few people who didnt' apply EAD because the Green Card process is way faster than before :)

There is a possibility that you get a letter for an interview before EAD approval anyways.

But because it won't cost any, it may be a good idea to apply EAD in case something happens with Green Card application and takes longer... (I really hope it's not going to!)

    Hope this answers your question...

  4. Hey guys!

Thanks all for letting me know about the sig and the walk in. I am still going to try. set on it...but will post if the Van Nuys morning walk-in still stannds.

I am currently on an H1B. When I sent out my AOS, I didn't send in an Applicaton for work-auth because I technically have one. BUT- I am limited to working at my current job because of that. Does anybody know if i can send an additonal application now for work auth anywhere? Can you tell....I am trying to switch jobs without getting sponsored again.

    Let me know!

    Thanks!

How you like my timeline

Regarding the EAD application, you can apply after already AOS being submitted.

I don't know the detailed information; but when I was doing my application, I came cross the information.

As far as I remember, you just have to fill out the paper and send with the copy of your NOA.

I was on H1b and I was totally burned out with the job so I actually already quit.

I though getting EAD would give me more choices than being on H1b; although I'm sad that there is gonna be a limit on travel until I get AP.

I'm just enjoying the time off now until I get my EAD :P

  5. Hey guys,

I did my walk-in biometrics today and figured that I should share this with you. I was scheduled to go in to Elizabeth NJ ASC office. Since I couldnt find any info about walk-ins , i decided to show up there around 9.30 am. The security lady wasnt very nice and told me that they do not accept any walk-ins today. They only do walk-ins on Wednesday. My entire trip was a waste of time. But I refused to go home without getting my biometrics done. So I decided to go to the Manhattan office. The security guard looked at my letter and said that I am scheduled for New Jersey not NY. I just said that jersey didnt accept walk-ins and that they sent me to the manhattan office( a tiny emergency lie). He let me go in and it took me 10 minutes to get my biometrics done. People at the Manhattan office were really nice and I am glad that I am one step closer to my green card.

Congrats!! and Great little lie :)

  6. If any of you guys signed up for an account on the USCIS website, do you receive emails/texts if you have a 'touch' on your applications? Or do you have to check entering every case number each time to know there is a touch?

I've signed up for an account on the USCIS but no email/text on any update including 'touch'.

I just go to 'My profile' to check all the case at once for each touch (update); no need to enter the case number if you enter it once.

  7. Hello everyone! I am going to attempt a biometrics walk in today! Wish me luck. Van Nuys Office, CA. Anyone have any luck there?

One more question- how do I get my timeline to appear on my posts like everyone elses'? :)

Good luck on the walk in biometrics :star:

I believe you are talking about the Signature...

    1) Go to "My Profile"

    2) Edit your Signature

    3) Save

This will allow your timeline to appear on your post everytime you post something:)

  8. Hi everyone,

I wanted to join a little late if you don't mind! Glad to have found this forum and wait with you all!

You can see our timeline in my signature. I have a few questions, hopefully someone can answer for us!

1-Our case was transferred to the California Service Center. However, we've yet to receive a notice that the case was received (we've only got the notice it was transferred). I've seen in others timelines that they were alerted that it was also received. This worries me as its been 19 days seen we received that notice that it was transferred, and it was our last communication. Should we worry that this is lost or a big delay?

2-All these 'touches'. We haven't received one (which I presume would be emailed to us [yes we did sign up for that feature]). Does that mean the case hasn't been looked at at all?

My husband just completed a second job interview at an organization he really wants to work for and things look good. We're both unemployed so this would be the answer to our prayers if it works out. However, receiving the EAD in good time is stressing us out majorly right now.

Wishing everyone all the best! Thanks in advance!

    Jessica

    Hi Jessica,

    Welcome to the group!!

It is great to know that there are others out there going through the same :)

    1. The e-notification is not dependable. I've sign up and never received anything... So I don't think you need to worry anything.

    2. Touched is just an update we receive on uscis website. No notification for it!

I think you should try the infopass too!! Some are successful with getting EAD expressed :star:

    Hi Nincy,

That's great that it was signed :)

They must be taking your money away by now

The first few steps were nerve-racking for me, and i got used to just wait...

    Good luck to you too!!!

  11. I took Biometrics today at Bellflower office in California.

It was very smooth and fast process.

The technician was very funny and everybody in the office was super nice :star:

I was planning to do walk-in but my appointment was only 2 weeks later and I had a vacation planned before that so I decided to wait for the appointment day.

I'm pretty sure the office I went take walk-ins.

It was pretty empty and I was out within 20 mins ^_^

I don't know I was so nerveous before
