  1. I am embarressd to post time but my fiancee is here from Bogota and think here under false pretenses. I suspected something was up so I installed a software on my computer to track email and messenger. She is professing her love to someone and making plans to flee in the country. If I book here a return flight to Bogota do I need to escort her home. The flight has a connection in Houston. If her plan is to flee she could run at the airport or never make the connection in Houston is flying by herself. I can not belive this is happening but what is my responsibilty to make sure she leaves the country? Wow a almost a year to get a visa, and one week to find out it is all bogus.

    Thanks for your help/advice :help:

    Robert

    Robert,

You seriously need to talk to her.

Some people go online to have a laugh and say completely crazy, ridiculous things simply because they're bored! Before you end this, TALK TO HER. She might have just been messing around. Lots of people LIE on the internet. I mean, back when I used to use instant messenger, I had guys constantly pming me telling me they were princes of their home country. Now, sure...maybe one or two of them actually were princes (doubt it), but the fact is, I can almost promise you that most of them were lying...and probably just to have some fun.

Now, I'm not saying her e-flirting was morally right...but neither was your spying.

Whatever happens, I wish you luck and peace. (F)

  2. I'm really amazed at how accurate these are...for both me and my husband!

    Me

Fir tree (Mysterious) -- extraordinary taste, handles stress well, loves

anything beautiful, stubborn, tends to care for those close to them,

hard to trust others, yet a social butterfly, likes idleness and

laziness after long demanding hours at work, rather modest, talented,

    unselfish, many friends, very reliable.

    Aidan

Maple Tree (Independence of Mind) -- no ordinary person, full of imagination and originality, shy and reserved, ambitious, proud,

self-confident, hungers for new experiences, sometimes nervous, has many

complexities, good memory, learns easily, complicated love life, wants

    to impress.

I've seen this meme before...it's my favorite by far. I absolutley adore trees. :luv:

  3. Hi floridians! I just wanted to say I did see this thread, since we are floridians...

but, to be honest I doubt we would go.

I can guarantee Sujeet would not want to as he has hardly ever participated in VJ and wouldn't feel like he knew who we are meeting. I also don't know everyone so well either that is in Florida and I'm shy too! I hope it doesn't come across offensive, just being very honest! :innocent: I am sure you know where I am coming from! But I am sure it will be lots of fun for you guys! :D

LOL, we don't really know many VJers either...especially not many of the Floridians! I think of this meeting as more of a "We made it through immigration!" rather than a "VJers get together!".

Don't be shy! You should go!

  4. today's one month no smoking btw :P Don't I get a chip or something?

    *Gives you a chip*

Congratulations!! And keep up the good work, it is so worth it!! Aidan has been off ciggs since November 8th...and he's never felt better! :luv:

  5. Has anyone ever offered a theory as to why these pieces of mail are returned as undeliverable even if they are valid, longtime addresses? Especially if other USCIS mail is delivered without a problem, but one piece inexplicably goes missing?

Kinda OT, but when I quit my last job, I gave my ex-boss a self-addressed stamped envelope so she could mail me my final check (I left on kinda bad terms). I called her a month later to see where my check was. She said it was returned as undeliverable and that she'd give it to a co-worker to give to me. I thought she was lying, cuz she really did hate me.

Sure enough, when my ex-co-worker gave it to me, it was marked as undeliverable. I couldn't understand it. I had lived there for years, and addressed it myself! #######?!

    The Twilight USCIS Zone

Or the Twilight USPS Zone. Grrr @ the USPS.

  7. Hehehe, my boy-love has put on some mucho weight since he's been here. :D

But, he also quit smoking the day he got here, so I think that has something to do with it. Anyway, he looks good with the extra weight. He was thin before...still thin now, just a bit more...healthy-looking. I think he's sexy either way. :luv:

  8. That sooooo was not true for us. I'd say that fewer than half of our guests gave us gifts, not even a card. I wondered if gift-giving wasn't so big at UK weddings (of course hubster is clueless). On the other had, the US reception we had, everyone gave us a gift.

That's just rude! I know at Irish weddings a gift is expected...and God forbid if someone gives a dry-card (no cash). Gift giving and money giving is seen as a way of helping a new couple start out in life. But not to give anything?? Rude!!

Oh and registries aren't big there at all, nor baby-showers or anything like that. I don't know what it is...they don't like being told what to buy? I haven't a clue!

Yeah, I couldn't believe it when Aidan told me they don't do baby showers over there. Then, when I was living there and my niece was born, they had this HUGE christening party and everyone got presents for the her. I was like, "Oh...that's why there's no baby shower." But don't most people need presents before the baby is born?

  9. It was the most wonderful day of my life! :luv:

beautiful dress!!! and your train reminds me of my train...except mine was ivory. I love the chiffon though...so floaty... :luv:

Jelti: Your pictures are great! I LOVE your dress...it really does look like a magical day (F)

    Thank you! (L)

  10. Just because they received that packet that doesn't mean they're ready to process your application. You have to expect a LONG period of nothing at all happening, so really there's nothing to check on yet. The next thing that'll happen is that you'll get your NOA1 letter and they'll cash your check but it might take four to six weeks for them to get to you. That's an awfully long time to sit on the edge of your seat waiting :P

Ok, 4-6 weeks? That really sucks. I didn't think it would take that long at all. :(

  11. I had my dream princess wedding for under $3000 which included the airfare to get to Oregon. However, I have a lot of friends and family that were are talented and I am very good at delegating tasks and getting people to do things for free! Such as my make-up, hair, professional pics, video, decorating, and boquet arrangements. When two separate people came up to me and said it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to--Ifelt like the true frugal queen!

Aidan and I also had our dream wedding for under $3000!! We had an outdoor wedding at a historical state park here in Central Florida followed by a pot-luck reception! About 50 guests attended. My friend Sherry played her flute during the ceremony, and I played CD's during the reception. I designed my own dress and had it made for me by a seamstress. Our cake was from Publix (and it was beautiful!), and I made all my own centerpieces (wicker baskets filled with fruit) and decorations. I also made my own bouquet. Our theme was Autumn in Ireland, and it turned out beautiful!

Here are some pictures (I love showing them off)!
