  1. So I checked my status online and on the "Last Update" it says 11/16/2009.. -- that means mine was "touched" right? BUT how come my status is still on "Initial Review" and it says this ...

"On October 21, 2009, we received this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

Is it normal that my application has been touched after my biometric appointment but my status is still on "Initial Review?"

Basically what I'm trying to say is --- Bio Done, 2 Touched, but why is it still on initial review?

    anyone has this?

My I-485 has been touched since my biometrics, but is still on initial review. It's normal. A touch just means an adjudicator pulled it off the shelf, swiped the barcode on the folder, did some stuff, then checked it back into the system. Kinda like a library book :) There's lots of stuff they can do that generates a touch but doesn't necessarily move the indicator on the website along. Maybe they had to look at a couple of pieces of info in one of your forms to initiate a background check of some kind. Or something like that. it's pretty normal, I think. Just have patience and try not to worry about it too much.

Thank you.. Yea I'm not worrying about anything I was just wondering.. Heheh.

I'm just waiting for my EAD approval..

  3. Congrats Greg & Xaenyth! That was super fast..:dance::dance:

I did my Biometric appointment today.. it went so smooth. The guy that assisted was Filipino, he was nice and talkative and it took about 10 minutes to finish everything.. but at the end he said "ok you're all done, it takes about 2-3 months for your EAD card to arrive in the mail so just wait for it" ... thats what he said... ummmm? really?

& How will i know i got approved for my EAD & AP?

    God Bless

  4. I was touched yesterday.... hehehe... anybody who complete there Bio get info on EAD to Travel docs? Those cases aren't online and I wander how long its going to take.

Hi Babylon, I could see my EAD online after my bio, a couple of days later. But no sign of AP.

    Newest processing times on USCIS.gov

I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status Employment-based adjustment applications 4 Months

I-765 Application for Employment Authorization Based on a pending I-485 adjustment application [©(9)] 3 Months

I-131 Application for Travel Document All other applicants for advance parole [©(9)] 3 Months

Does it really take this long? I thought EAD would be more like 60 days, I need to start working :(

I don't think it takes that long. I was actually talking to this girl here who is a September filer. She said right after she went in for her biometric appointment, she was approved the next day and 9 days later she received her EAD card in the mail.. Hopefully it all happens to us. Let's keep praying because I know we all want to get a job! -- and ohh man! our baby boy is due in january so i really need to work now! hehehe.

  5. What is the exact meaning of "Touch"? I'm not sure what that is, but i always see it on peoples timeline. Is that an email from USCIS?

& How will i know if my case is transferred? Do all cases gets transferred?

Still not available online and still no original NOAs. I called and they said sometimes the biometrics letter goes out quick because they are able to schedule an appointment. They said there is nothing wrong with my case and I should receive the original NOAs soon and not to worry if they are not received. I asked about the case and where it is located and I am guessing it is still at the Missouri Service Center, not transferred yet.

Hey shenan, I think you're okay. You already have your biometric appointment right? I hope you receive your NOA's soon though. :)

  6. Welcome Ben-Q :)

Djohn - touches are when they update your case on the website. Every time they do something with it they scan it and it shows up on the site as 'last updated'.

I don't think all cases get transferred, but I have no idea how they decide which ones do. We got snail mail notifying us we were transferred first. Then later we were able to finally see our case online and sign up for email updates.

Thanks Xaenyth for clearing it up for me. I signed up on USCIS so I'm able to receive emails or updates from them but I haven't gotten any.
