  1. I don't wanna quote everybody, but CONGRATS to all who received their EAD cards, and of course their GREEN CARDS!!

what a nice present for this christmas eh?

Does anybody know how long does it take to get the SS card in the mail? I applied on Dec 17th. On the receipt I got, it says it takes about 2 weeks or so. But I wanna know if anybody here got theirs earlier than 2 weeks. Thank you!

  2. Can I get a California Drivers License showing my EAD card? I just received my EAD card last week on Dec 17th, I also applied for a SSN the same day. I was wondering if I can go to the DMV and show my EAD card only since my SSN won't be here for another 2 weeks or so. Did anybody go through this? Please share your experience

By the way, I live in Hayward California (45 mins away from San Francisco)

    Replies will be appreciated!

  3. Hello Fellow October Filers! I just want to share the great news!

My Work Permit has been granted! (Is it?)

It says that they have ordered production of my card (Dec 11)- is that good as my petition for work permit granted? Please say yes! ;)

If it is, am i safe to look/accept jobs now?

one more thing, ive submitted my application together with the AOS and advanced parole, i was expecting that the advance parole and EAD will be approved on the same day?

Thank you soo much VJ family!

Can someone tell me what this means? I'm a little confused. It's not another "Card Production ordered"

Hi Djohn, that's the normal sequence on the EAD approval. Two card production emails followed by an approval email.

Thanks Greg. But what about my EAD card? Does that mean it's on its way already?

  5. Ok guys i have a question and i know that i'm getting paranoid. Few weeks ago i received this notice:

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you.

The question that i have is does it meant that it's transfer to California or to my homestate office. Thanks for any replys.

Hey Anisa, I had a friend who filed for his AOS in Aug 2008. He received this message as well. I think his case and your case are the same. He was from Arizona and his papers was transferred at a USCIS office in Arizona. I'm guessing yours is processing at your state. you shouldn't worry much! I think the process for your case will be faster.
