So, I called DOS.. AGAIN.. still does not show that my petition has made it to the Consulate. This woman was not so pleasant and told me that it hadn't been that long and that I should just be patient. I told her it was sent on 10/27 and that the DHL website was showing packages sent on 11/2 had arrived today.
Her response.. "you know how the government works. They told you it was sent on 10/27, but then it went to someone's desk.. and then probably to another desk.. and then to the mailroom.. and then maybe actualy got picked up two or three days later.." Well, even if that happend it would have been picked up, sent and delivered by now.
I am sure it actually is there.. but I just want some OFFICIAL notification that it has been received..I have this strange feeling it's going to take longer to go from NVC to the consulate than it took to get NOA2
( if I wouldn't type so darn fast, I wouldn't make so many typos and wouldn't have to edit so often
)Just tell her you will call back in an hour to check again! And don't forget to tell her to have a nice day.

Antonio checked this morning, obviously just as the system updated and I got the email text a couple minutes later. Yesterday my obsessive behavior was in overdrive.. so call, check the website 600 times, check your email 100 times.. that was my recipe yesterday.
You would love the lizards in SC, you put them near your ear and they latch on like an earring. That would get you screaming all the way to Vermont!

On the 9th of November, .Me and my son will fly to Manila for almost 2 hours and will do the medical this week. and Interview next week. I think im more scared to do the medical exam coz of the vaccination compared to doing the Interview.. My greatest fear by the way are Needles,. lol

Exactly! He checked the website.. began calling me and while he was telling me the text came across my phone! There are several NOA2s today from yesterday. I know you guys are going to be joining us in the happy dance today! I can feel it!

Woo hoo! We just got our text too.It's 5 am and it's too early for me to be up too, but it's a great way to start the day!!! Approved yesterday. Now it's just going to be up to Guatemala, and unfortunately, nothing there moves very quickly except for the public transit system.

Morning everybody.
It's way way too early for me to be up. But mom is having her surgery today and I have to take her. I keep thinking that it's just 2 more days until I see Mathew. Or the day after tomorrow, since it sounds quicker!!!

I'm SHOCKED that there aren't any NOA2's for this week yet....
As if my week can get any worse, I was robbed of my wallet lastnight, I lost $400 in cash and $300 in disability check!!
I swear, not even a NOA2 would make me feel better right now. I lost everything!
It's a good thing I recently received did my citizenship, so I had that and my passport to use as ID @ motor vehicles.
Pray for me everyone!
OH NO!!! I am so sorry! What a horrible week for you! I hope that they get the jerk that took it..
And I promise you that if your NOA2 comes down, it will ease the pain of the loss. I am rooting for something good to happen to you today!

I called DOS again and the woman I talked to was so nice.. but she said that the system still shows that my file was sent DHL on 10/27 and has not reached the Consulate yet.
So.. I told her that DHL is showing every file to the consulate, mailed between 10/27 and 11/2, has been received.. and that someone I knew in Turkey checked and said it was there.. but that she is still showing it has not arrived. I also told her that NONE of the packages listed on DHL weighed the same amount my packet did and that I was worried maybe it hadn't actually shipped.. or somethign was wrong.
She told me that if DHL was showing all those packages delivered that it probably was already there and the system just wasn't showing it.. and that happens sometimes. She said not to worry and to keep calling every day until I get the answer I want. I assured her I was going to call every day, and then I was thinking maybe I will have Kayla call too
Well take shifts.. Send me the data, and we will aggravate them until someone says "Good HEAVENS!! Would someone please go to the damn mailroom and find this chicks file. NOW!"
Oh, that's great..How about this for a schedule:

i don't know what's up...VSC seems to be slowing down and that's flipping me out a bit...there's been barely any movement on the remaining ones for 9/24 in days...i hope we're not all stuck somewhere collecting dust...though i don't know how anyone would be able to misplace mine...it's so huge!!
I don't know what's up.. I have been going through the numbers I know (I don't know them all for my date) and there are lots of RFEs for the 29th, a couple approved..
I freaked myself out today. I called to check status instead of the website, I knew it would say the same as the website, but all logic is slowly leaving me.. When I entered the number it said "On November 2nd we approved you application I129...(OMG!!! OMG!!!!) Petition for Non Immigrant Worker!" DAD GUMMIT I typed the number in wrong..

howdy all, no news for me today, but here to give a quick update on the 8 petitions that were still left in initial review for VSC 9/24. Finally some movement on 1 - though a negative one. The one petition whose status changed actually got denied. It's the first one i've seen denied and it seems weird that it wouldn't have gone to RFE first. Anyone know why a petition would get denied instead of first requesting more evidence? Just curious...
I found one of the numbers on my mini watch list as denied too...(I became a normal person for a while then started back up on the checking consecutive numbers again.. whatcha gonna do when you get obsessed?? ) I wondered if maybe they hadn't met in the prior 2 years or if the petitioner had an unacceptable background check. I couldn't think of another thing that would send it straight to denial.. But what do I know? I am pretty green around here..

I haven't been very active in this, and I think that's helped me stay patient. Now I see that many people are getting NOA 2, so I'm getting pretty excited that something is going to happen soon.
Did any other petitioners get letters from their senators or congress person? I got one of each. I don't know if it helps much, but it can't hurt. Basically the politician will send a letter to the processing center (or probably to the foreign country if it's already there) saying they're concerned and they want to know what happens. The Embassy's are REQUIRED to respond, i.e. contact the politician when a decision is made. It's good because as I understand it there is an appeal process for the Fiance visa, so if it came to that, it's good to have your representative involved early.
I had seen that before, but never on a letter submitted with the material, however, I know that if a Congressman's or Senator's office calls an agency, they have 48 hours to respond to them. So it may help, and at Service centers it will speed up the process, but I am not sure if it will speed up in the Embassy. In Brazil at least is moving so fast that I dont think you would need it.
Hey guys I got a heads from another VJer that the Embassy in Napoli is moving very quickly. My question is, besides my income information, what can I begin obsessing over now while I wait for NOA2. I would hate to have to delay an interview because I had not gotten everything ready.

hmm...what does that mean exactly? that your case has been assigned to an adjudicator but not yet reviewed?
Man! I have been checking cases that are on my same date ( I have 2 others I had been watching) One was RFE 10/30 then other one was approved 10/20...WHERE'S MINE!!?? I am down to only 3 toes on each foot for heaven's sake!!

If you want a giggle.. wait until after tomorrow.. I mentioned my friends and I are going as the Village People to a Halloween costume party... Well let me tell ya.. We have a Bob the Builder construction worker, a Howdy Dowdy Cowboy, A trampy Pocahontas, for an Indian, Gomer Pyle for the Military guy and a porn star like Cop.. I am the biker, and two biker friends have adopted me as their little dress up doll.. I have about a couple thousand dollars in Biker stuff on loan from them, you name it from, chaps to chains and all in both Pink AND Black ..can't wait to get some pics!

I think the link to DHL is on page 36 or 37 of this forum.. when I went to the page I would putting in the following:
EXP 23 OCT 2009A
with a date range of 10/23 - 10/26 and it showed a few going to Brazil. I've tried with EXP 26 OCT 2009A with date ranges of 10/26 - 10/27 and come up with almost nothing.. for some reason the other way worked better.
They cant ell you exactly what day the received it and what day it was mailed out... but if they mailed it "This week" it was most likely 10/26 or 10/27
good god, i'm seriously pathetic at this point. so, you all know i'm still waiting for my noa2 of course. just for the hell of it and because i couldn't bear checking the uscis site for the umpteenth time, i decided to distract myself by checking out these DHL tracking searches. so i run exactly the one above and wouldn'tcha know...there's a package en route to guayaquil, ecuador sent 10/26. 6 lbs. now, of course there's no chance it could be mine, i haven't even gotten an NOA2, much less gone through NVC. of course it's someone else's. but i find myself thinking, "what if my account just didn't get updated?? what if that's mine? it's maybe a pound too heavy but what if they repackaged it??"
i know it's all crazy talk in my head but good god this is what this process does to neurotic people like me. :-) anyway just had to share. :-)
I think the neurosis comes with this territory.. When a friend of mine broke up with her boyfriend (she lives in SC he lives in NC) due to the stress of a long distance relationship (1 1/2 hours by car), I had to giggle and say "Ya ain't seen nuttin sister!!"

Something about his sleepy voice in the mornings just puts me in the cuddliest mood. Makes my day better. But this morning I was like screaming to the top of my lungs so he didn't have no choice but to be up immediately!
Come on Karen! I want to see your NOA2 today!!! Maybe if you whine today like I did yesterday you'll get yours. Or maybe you've already got it, and just haven't checked your email. So get upppppppp.

Mine came at 7am on the dot. Both email and text. My NOA2 was dated for yesterday, so maybe they sent out a batch of approvals notices at the end of the night and first thing in the morning. I know my moms office might close a 4:30, but she comes home and has to release her batches(she's supervisor of physicians billing for our hospital), and sometimes keep working. So maybe the same thing applies here.

WOE is ME!! Actually I should be whining, I had a major melt down moment last night, trying to arrange a wedding in the US when I have no friggin' idea when and trying to herd cats to arrange a ceremony in Italy next September.

It really is cool how we get as excited as if we had gotten our own. And it restores our hope that VSC really is still working..

I have been wondering where Alex was myself... maybe he got NOA2, and is scrambling for forms and forgot all about us here that are cheering him and Anna on! At least I hope that is it! His NOA1 date was early in Sept I believe!
