  1. I understand its better to get a bank letter instead of the bank statement. i called my bank and they want to know what should the content of the letter should be or what is it suppose to state. Please help. i am gathering my fiance's docs he has an interview in Feb 2010.

    thanks

I sent a letter from my bank stating the date the account was opened, the number and dollar value of the deposits for the last 12 months, and I also included the bank statements for the last 12 months.

    Good luck to you!

  2. guys i know plp say packet 3. but when my fiance got the packet from islamabad embassy it said "packet 3.5" any ideas why?

I would say it was a version number... Our packet 3 was called Packet 3 though it stated the date of this version..

Like packet 3 as of February 2009 .. Maybe this is just the way this consulate notes the version used.

Off to bed... Antonio's interview is in about 6 hours!!! :) I want to be up to hear the results..

Since Im the probably the only one in here on Europe time, I'll be here waiting for your good news.

Croatia is also on Europe time. :clock:

Jenn: I am happy for you!!! Enjoy! :dancing:

Thanks for the well wishes!! I just got the call.. the interview is finished. He picks up his visa at 5pm today!!!!!!!!

         <---------- Rockettes Christmas Special!

  4. Looks like a lot of posts to read.. and they look like they are going to be funny too.. I am sure I will have some stories to share but right now I am doing something CRAZY.

I was supposed to leave for Istanbul on Friday. Fuat got his medical results, called me, told me he passed and said "honey.. can't you come today?"

I just changed my flight and am leaving for the airport in ONE HOUR.

AHHHHHH.... I will have to wait until I get to Turkey to read all the fun stuff.

    I'm off.... YEAHHHHHH!!!!!!!

HOT DAMN! Have Fun! Enjoying your "ironing" !! : )))

  5. I was reading the last posts and started smiling. I was also thinking about the Turkish topic, which proved to be very interesting and useful. There are so many differences between USA lifestyle and other countries', even if they might be minor things, tiny lil details. I read something about one Turkish man worried that he might catch a cold from the AC or if he goes to bed without drying his hair :) I got the same problems. Im not a very good friend with the AC, and we dont use it that much in my country. I never go to bed without drying my hair and the list can go on. As for housecleaning, I know Italian families care a lot about it. There are so many different things and I think it takes a lot of time and patience to adjust to each other's lifestyle. And, of course, alot of compromising.

Antonio has the AC thing going too. Are you terrified of ice and very cold drinks too... Last summer when I was at Antonio's aunt's house in Italy, Antonio's mother fell down and after we checked her over and made sure she was ok, I fixed her a glass of water. The only bottle of water was in the freezer, so it would be ice the next morning for the cooler.. When I handed her the glass of water, all the cousins and family..."Oh My God NO IT'S COLD, it will ruin her stomach".

You don't know the real flavor of a Coke until you have had it at room temperature. BLAH!! And if you order something WITH ice, they will drop a piece the size of dime in your drink.

  6. AandD:I'm on countdown as well, going to Jamaica dec. 22 and this will be our 2nd christmas as a couple but the 1st time spending christmas & new years together, I can barely contain myself.

YEAAAA! And I leave for Italy the 23rd, arriving early Christmas Eve! I can't wait.

Not sure how other consulates handled this but Antonio went to the medical today and when you come in, you turn in your passport. Well, he was the first to arrive and when they call names they pull from the top so he was called last :( Grumpy Italian this morning.

Same thing happened to Fuat yesterday :)

I just looked at your time line again and your interview is TOMORROW!!! Can't wait to read good news.

I know I am so excited! Hope things went swimmingly with Fuat's medical other than the back @ssward way they call people in! It's hysterical that Antonio is NOOOOT a morning person, but he took one for the team and got there at 7am just to sit around for 5 hours. Poor baby!

He's on his way, to pick up the results, as I type this. I am sure there will be no problems.. but he is so worried because he says he's never had a physical before. That's why he insisted on doing it right now, even though we have two months before our interview.

I keep telling him that he would have had a medical check up when he did his military service, but he says he didn't.. they just gave him vaccinations. He has no record of them though, so they gave them to him again yesterday. His arm was so sore, but being the only son in a Turkish family he is very spoiled. His mother and his sisters were giving him a massage last night because his arm was sore . Poor Baby :)

You poor girl.. and for the record, Italian sons are the same way! We will have our hands full when they get here. I am not looking forward to flu season! : )

Italian sons are the same way ? :) Yes.. we have our hands full. There was one night, last year, we were talking on MSN web cam and his sister was behind him, ironing his clothes for the next day.. it was after midnight and I could not believe he would be telling ( not asking) his sister to iron his clothes. She was making hand signals to me that one day I would be the one doing it.. and I firmly said, "Maybe sometimes.. but I am going to be more than happy to teach him how to do laundry and iron." :) She thought that was hilarious.

He was sweet, and tried to iron his own shirt the next day. But, he had this bright idea that it would be easier to spread it out on the floor instead of using the ironing board. Ended up burning the carpet :):)

I am well prepared for what I am going to have to go through with this situation. I have about 60 university students, from Turkey, that come to work with me every summer.. I get such a kick out of watching the guys trying to do their own laundry for the first time. They take pictures to send home to their mothers and the Turkish girls stand in the hallway, watching them and laughing. Some of them can actually cook.. but most bat thier eyes at the Turkish girls and get them to do it for them.

We've made a deal.. He's going to teach me to cook Turkish food ( although I am going to take a class also).. and I am going to teach him to wash and iron his own clothes :)

Now, I just have to get myself used to keeping a clean house to Turkish standards or he's going to have to get used to living in a house where the wife isn't home all day and the entire house isn't going to be scrubbed top to bottome every day :)

Antonio always tells me when I am talking to his mother than I am always scheming a feminist plot. His mother is very forward thinking for an Italian mother, but her actions haven't caught up, at least where her baby is concerned. But he does cook and help around MY house when he comes to the US. And the housekeeping thing... OMG! His mom is coming in March, I could eat off her floors. I tend to be a good housekeeper but the bar they set is pretty damn high! You think she will freak that my cat jumps on the counter to see what you are doing in the kitchen??.. I am desperatly trying to break him of this habit before she gets here!! Any cat whisperers in here?.. this is my first time with a cat.. I am generally a dog person... I can train a dog, but this freaking cat owns me instead of the other way around..

  9. I just wanted to say that I hope those of you here in the states aren't getting attacked by the blizzard going on. Here in Kentucky we're getting the rain and wind from it. Collapsed a little building behind my house. I never knew what that thing was for anyway.

And for those of you still waiting, I know it's going to come soon! It's christmas! Everything good happens at christmas. I do wish I was spending it with Mathew, but I understand that this might be the last one in a while he'll get to spend with his family. But still!!! lol.

Glad to see your back.. Hope things continue to improve with your mom.

  11. HA! I don't have an engagement ring either!

Hello8083 I think your other evidence is fine - although I'd leave out the western union recepits...just unnecessary if you ask me

    Good luck.

thanks to everyone, really ,no words thanks alot

You may want to check with other petitioner's with SOs in Morocco, I don't know the customs and traditions in Morocco. Some consulates may be very strict about whether the couple has followed with the customs common in that country.

    Good luck.

  12. Guys I can't help but to be worried about Kayla and her mom. Everytime I check the forum, I look for good news from her.

Who knew that a set of people with mainly one thing in common (filing for K-1/2 visas) would become so close through the internet....

I know.. I keep looking for word from her too. Although I hate to think it, the fact that she has not been on here is not a good sign.

    Kayle, we are thinking about!

I keep checking in to see if Kayla has responded too. I hope everything is ok!

So I talked to the Department of State this morning..............the consulate set our interview appointment for Dec 14th of 2010!!???!! WTH? I'm so upset right now, and I cannot get anyone from the embassy in Guatemala to respond.

That doesn't sound right at all someone has to have the wrong information.

    Good Luck!!! Keep us posted.

I'll bet it's for next week.. I don't think Guatemala is that backed up. According to the embassy info they turn the interviews around pretty quickly.. I hope they are just trying to get you in before this Christmas..

  13. Hello all,

my story short and sweet: I am the foreign spouse, came to the U.S. in 2008 to get married to my wife. I brought all my savings, furnished our home, and had some starting capital left so we didn't have to worry while I was still on the outlook for a job.

She left me a couple of months ago and filed for divorce. She's assuming that I have major assets and cash reserves, and alleges everything and anything to get a huge slice of the cake. The problem is: I don't have what she's assuming, I barely have the funds to pay for my lawyer. My fear is now that she is dragging this divorce out, goes into discovery, and spends months and $$$$ just to find out what I already know. I already lost my job a couple of days ago, because I wasn't able to focus any more after she left.

My question pertains to the following: we signed an apartment lease, which ends in July 2010. The monthly rent is $1,300. Since I don't have an income any more, I won't be able to pay the rent from January on. Plus, I don't know where to get money to cover basic expenses like food etc. My plan is to go back to my home country soon, but I can't as long as the divorce is pending and she's playing treasure hunt.

Since she and both of her parents filed an affidavit of support with my GC application, I was wondering if they aren't obligated to help me out financially. Of course, it would be a freaky situation to ask my in-laws for financial aid while the divorce is pending. But their daughter on the other hand could just be reasonable and draw a bottom line under this divorce, since there is nothing to get for her. And as soon as I permanently move back to my home country, my GC becomes void and so does their affidavit of support.

Does anyone here have an answer to my question ?

    Thanks.

I am so sorry to hear about this. You may want to check and see if it is required that you stay in country for the divorce. If she has filed you may only need to sign a seperation agreement (from anywhere in the world) and at least in my state you are not required to attend the divorce court date unless you are the one that filed.

Good luck to you, and again sorry about your situation.

  14. Hey everyone I need you all to pray hope and wish to whoever it is that you might personally pray to for my mother. I've got her back at the hospital again and it isn't looking good. I just want her to get better, I want this all over with and I want her to be alright. I can't stand the thought of losing my mommy and right now I feel like I'm going to. :(

I'm so sorry Kayla, you and your mom will be in my prayers.

  15. I just checked on the USCIS website and our application is approved!!!!! Finally!!! Now the ball starts roll!

Congrats good luck with the rest of the process.

Thanks so much! Do you know if we can schedule the interview appointment as soon as it reaches the National Visa Center?

Congratulations. You will have to get through NVC and have the docs arrive in Italy before you can process anything further.

You, the USC, will receive the packet 3 in email after it arrives in Napoli.. fax back the required docs (prep them now) and within a week your fiance can call and schedule the appointment for an interview. Antonio called this Monday and has an interview next Thursday!!

    Congratulations again!!

  16. So how sweet is this..

I just spent 2 hours on MSN with Fuat.. a few minutes after we logged off he called me. When I answerd the phone he said, "honey.. it is now midnight in Turkey, so this means for us it is December 2nd. I wanted to be the first person to say Happy Birthday and I love you."

So so so sweet.. BUT.. my birthday is the 28th

When I told him this he go so upset.. and then told me my mother's birthday, my sisters's birthday.. my brothers birthday... all correctly :)

He made me promise that when we are together, if he walks in the house with a cake and a candle and says happy birthday that I will not tell him it's not my birthday that I will just say "Honey.. thank you so much :) "

He never remembers his families birthdates and I always have to remind him.. I think it's sweet that he called thinking it was my birthday, but now he's so upset that he got it wrong!! I should have just played along with it :)

What a sweetie pie.... He will learn and if he doesn't ... what's a better gift than him being a sweet pumpkin when it's NOT you're birthday..??

  17. Congratulations!

I understand and agree 100% to all the points you made Kayla, you're right in all aspects and no you weren't being mean or snotty, I asked for you guys opinion so I should be able to handle the responses.

So, my mind is made up. I'll hold off on the baby making "project" until he gets here.

Thanks so much for your input, it made a big difference. I myself had thought about everything you mentioned but the excitement and joy of being in love just distracted me from what's really best for me.

Just keep practicing for the project

Danial is approved!!!! He will be here December 12th! :)

Thanks everyone for being on here!! Good luck to you all!

    CONGRATULATIONS!!

  18. Goodmorning everyone, hope we all had a great thanksgiving and weekend.

Gaynto:CONGRATULATIONS!! That's not far from now, I really do wish you the best of luck!

Guys, I have a personal question.... It's a decision that me & my love should make but I'd just like to hear you guys opinion since we're all on the same journey.

Okay, here goes: I'm going to Jamaica to see my honey for 2 wks, we're spending christmas AND new years together.

We plan on trying to get pregnant while I'm there.

BUT, I'm having 2nd thoughts bcoz we haven't gotten our NOA2 yet I'm not sure how long this whole process is going to take before he's here with me...

My point is, I'd hate to go through pregnancy and even worse, delivery without him.

    What do you guys think?

    THANKS!!

Wow.. I don't know what to tell you. I would check in the regions section and get an idea of timing from others petitioning in Jamaica.

But I am very excited for you two.. a little K-1 baby! awwww... I think you will win for first baby pic posted here :)
