  1. why oh why hasn't our petition been touched since it arrived on the first desk almost 3 weeks ago? I feel ignored :crying:

I keep seeing the same date over and over, sept. 21, and nothing changes. I read that in Vermont they are going much faster now than in the past months. why is California so slow? :(

Im with you on that. its been a month for us....no touch...nothing

lets try to think positive... maybe we'll get approved soon...as in next month soon :star:

I really hope so, next month would be just perfect :D

the more I think about how long it will take and the more I keep checking the USCIS website to see if something moved...well, the more stomachache I get, seriously.

I hate the waiting, knowing that then you have to wait for the next step. And the thought of waiting for Naples! UGH!

And the thought of GOING to Naples...

They probably chose Napoli instead of Milan or Rome as a test. if you're ready to go there, then it must be real love.

    Oh No, you didn't!

I hate the waiting, knowing that then you have to wait for the next step. And the thought of waiting for Naples! UGH! We will have a wedding in the US and have already made a deposit on a location in Italy for a ceremony in September 2010. I get a little crazy and a bit of a stomachache myself pondering if we will get the approval to leave the country again in time for us to go back to Italy! And I think I will need to seek a professional counselor about my uncontrollable urge to log on to the USCIS website somany times a day. But let's hang in there.. there are success stories everyday. Without this website, I think I would be in worse shape going through it "alone"..

  3. But on the brighter side, some have said they didn't see a touch then one day it popped up approved.

Then I really hope that this "untouching" our file is only a good sign ;)

    Fingers crossed

Just stopping by to confirm what you mentioned here. We were never touched and after 79 days we got our approval :star: Just hang in there guys, the waiting is dreadful but it's so worth it when the NOA2 finally arrives!

Wow you were approved Friday! Congratulations! You must be over the moon, right now!

Thanks for stopping in and shining a little hope in here. I'm sure you remember the first weeks as gut wrenching as well.

Good luck with Phase II of this seemingly never ending journey!

I'm sorry! I hope they get touchy feely with your file soon! But on the brighter side, some have said they didn't see a touch then one day it popped up approved.

Good luck to you! Where in Italy is your fiance?

  5. Welcome Alexbarrow

Post away... many of us are green in here  But I think the grown ups come and check on us from time to time. We are here to get and give support! It's nice to know when that you're not alone in this process which is soooo (pardon the pun) alien to many of our friends.

I posted a link to USCIS earlier today. If you haven't already log on to your case on the website and you can sign up for email and text message updates.

Hope your wait will go quickly.

Yeah, I registered for that :)

I was last updated on 9/17/09

I have high hopes for getting it processed quickly but we are ready for a long wait if we have to. Hopes are high (NEXT MONTH!), expectations are low (NEXT YEAR!) , I bet the results will be somewhere in the middle, December 4-31 according to this wonderful site.

Thank you for your support, it is really appreciated.

Dove in Italia avete studiato?

  6. Hello Everybody,

First of all WOW, I wish I had found this forum before I filed, it would have saved a lot of headache and time invested in figuring out what needs to go where and when. Anyway, I think in the end our I-129F packet that we filed has all the necessary items. We have been waiting a little more than a month now and are prepared to wait for as long as it takes. I just wanted to add myself to the list and give support (and receive some too!) to all those who understand what it is like to go through this process.

If I have any questions or updates can I post them here? I am sure that I will gradually reveal more details and more things will come to light about everyone. I am glad this forum exists, thank you to everyone involved with this website.

  7. Touched Again..

How do you know when you've been touched? is it on that same page where you type in your case number?

    Go here:

    https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do

Sign up and then you can get case updates by email or text message if you like, but you still need to log on to see if they "touch" your file.. (as far as I can tell, still green in here, remember  )

When you add your case it will say last updated on XX/XX/XX date.. there's your touch..

Good luck obsessing, but I will be right there with you!

  8. My check was cashed, my check was cashed..

Thank Heavens, because I was getting carpel tunnel logging on to my bank 16 times a day..

It took 4 seconds to memorize the receipt number.

I know this is just the beginning of a Looong journey, but I will be the type of person to log on to USCIS every morning and every night too (and maybe once or twice for good measure in the middle of the day! )..

    Come on VSC!

I have a wedding in the US, and a ceremony in Italy to attend! : )

  9. BearCat,

I read that you were asking back in April how long you had to Adjust your status... If you have only recently applied then I think that MAYBE (not nearly an expert) you were now here illegally.. is that possible? This is from the USCIS website

    Application Process

If you entered the United States as a fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen (K-1), child of a fiancée of a U.S. citizen (K-2), or the spouse or child of a U.S. citizen (K-3 or K-4) you will have to file for adjustment of status in order to get your green card and to remain legally in the United States.

To obtain a green card, you need to file Form I-485.

If You are Present in the United States as a K-1 Fiance(e)

You should apply for adjustment as soon as you marry your fiancé(e). By law and regulations, you are required to marry the U.S. citizen who petitioned for you within 90 days of your admission to the United States in K-1 status. If you fail to marry, you will become removable from the United States and cannot adjust through any other means.

Is this the situation? Please see an immigration attorney as soon as possible. I wish you all the luck so that you and your husband are not separated or at the very least not long.. I am sorry you are going through this.
