  1. Now, how do I go about going to protect my identity incase he does anything with my info???

I would first request a copy of your credit report to see if any activity has occurred.

You can place a fraud alert on your report, so that someone must contact you before any new credit is opened. I think it lasts 3-4 months.

This is information credit wise, I don't know all the ramifications of losing your identity to a foreign national and what damage could be caused by that.

I hope some will chime in about that.

  2. HUH?? My husband married me, I'm "foreign"... why would I have a problem with people marrying foreign partners and be on this website going through an immigration process?? Do I think it's kinda crazy to marry someone you barely know and on top of that their being from a completely different culture you know nothing about and add on top of that perhaps a huge age difference, sure.. you bet ya, I do think it's crazy as it makes no sense to me... elitist? not quite !

I understand that you are not American, and luckily you were in the states. It's this comment that got me earlier "Seriously, what's wrong with trying to find someone HERE, get to know them WELL before getting married and avoid all this drama and suspense?" If it was a reply to the OP about looking again in a different country, then I hear ya.. otherwise it came off as condescending.

  3. Just goes to show how little some people know about their foreign fiancee before getting hitched... ridiculousness to the extreme!

There are definitely people that are being scammed and definitely people that seem to have made bringing a fiance(e) to the US a cottage industry. I am always surprised how many worry about how this situation will cause problems for future petitions. I think I saw a post today that someone was saying that they didn't need any assistance because they had done 3 petitions. Well welcome to the land of freedom to make choices (good or bad). That being said, I enjoy your continued elitist attitude that is basically saying people that fall in love and marrying foreign partners are idiots.

  4. I realize I can come across as a little rude on here sometimes, I just tend to speak my mind and type exactly too what I think right there and then... probably not such a good idea in a public forum, haha!

But sheezz.. what's up with these people sending money to complete strangers they possibly only met online and barely know? So you visit this person in their country once or twice before bringing them over to the US and you think you know them well enough to send them a whole bunch of cash for a ticket and a K1 visa with the idea of marrying in 90 days?? Good grief! commitment much ? I just will never get this... what's with the desperation? Why not find somebody here in the US, that's already legally here?? How do you know the foreign SO is not just a really good act online and is not just putting up a "front" every time you visit -clears the house of all pics of her/his boyfriend/girlfriend and moves him/her out for when you're there, with the family happily lying along cause they're thinking they're gonna piggyback a ride on their daughter/sons back to the US in a few years??

The OP is already thinking about getting another K1 visa for someone else in future? what the heck.. ever tried a dating site... matchmetoaloser.com (kidding!) or something? Seriously, what's wrong with trying to find someone HERE, get to know them WELL before getting married and avoid all this drama and suspense?

Ya do know the purpose of this forum, right? I hear ya.. really I do, but this is a forum for visas for foreign SOs.

  5. I hope everyone had a good day yesterday.

As for myself, just when I thought my string of bad luck ended, another dilema struck yesterday. Going to a doctor's appointment I got in a car accident. I see this truck at a stop sigh/intersection already out in the middle of the street as if my car was invisible to her. I didn't want to hit her so I swerved and hit a parked truck. The truck that I hit merely has a fender bender but MY car seems totaled.

Story doesn't end there, my weak hearted mother jumped out the car, cracked a bone in her leg and tore ligaments in her ankle and therefore needs surgery. I feel so distraught because I won't be here to help her and my first car ever that I only owned for 5 months is destroyed. I haven't even finished x'mas shopping yet; I have a nail and hair appointment and I just want my baby back. It's a 95 camry but I loved it :-(

Anyone wants to offer me a ride?

Ugh, just pray for me because now my new fear is that the plane won't make it safe to Jamaica tuesday morning.

I'm so sorry. I hope you and your mom are ok.

I am sure you will make it safe to Jamaica, enjoy your time and try not to worry too much.

  6. I have already filed the I129 and it has been approved. I am now having trouble because it has been almost three months, and the nvc has not received it from the usics. I am thinking about getting a service now, and hoping they can help. Should I, and if so, has anyone had good luck with any of them

Have you contacted USCIS to find out when it was sent to NVC. My file was sent and received at NVC within 5 days of approval. I can't imagine a service doing anything for you that you can't do yourself, and no offense but especially one called "easyfiancevisa".

  7. Luis: so sorry for a bad news...

kjenkins86: we will call USCIS today even just to hear that we have to wait, but still to hear them and maybe somebody will do something. It is so nice to be with him, but in the same time we are sad that we are still waiting and waiting. I am hoping for Christmas news...I do not want anything...the only present I want is NOA2. Just to think I am leaving him makes me so sad that I can cry. But..thats life...at the end we know that we will be together.

You know how hard is to wait, to see a lot of October filers with NOA2 and just a few of us from September still waiting. I would like to know the reason. :(

Ney: good work...I have 3 cats, and with his 2 dogs we will have a big family...intending to have one more cat :innocent::star:

    Sebas&Lily: Congrats!!!

Luis & Alice, my thoughts are with you. Things like this are so hard, especially at this time of year.

Ney, sorry to hear about the trip to the Hospital. I hope all is well now.

    Sebas & Lily, congrats!!

Paciene ye fay ( I think I spelled that wrong:) ) Congrats on getting the interview date you wanted.

A & D, I hope you get a great Christmas present.. and if you look at everyone else, you will STILL have an interview date before me.. even if you don't get NOA2 until January :) ( but I still maintain there is a REASON our interview is that particular date even if it is so far away).

4lovewelive, this is probably a long shot.. but would your fiance qualify for a loan from the bank? It would have to be enough to put you way above the poverty line, but if that money was sitting in an account then maybe you wouldn't need the Co-sponsor. Just a thought.. have been trying to think of creative ways you could get around the co-sponsor.

Hope I didn't miss anyone. It's been crazy since I got off the plane. Woke up not only to Fuat not being next to me, but found out my company had been SOLD. I have always been on the other end of the corporate take overs, so this is a whole new ballgame for me. I'm one of the ones they send in when we buy a new park.. feels strange to think the company is going to be owned by someone else, and that I am going to have to be the one to change how I do things instead of telling others how things are to be done now, but I do know I don't need to worry about my job.. and it could be a really good thing for our parks.

Packing my car and heading to Michigan. Wasn't going to leave until tomorrow or Sunday, but huge snow storm on the way. We're expecting at least a foot of snow.. now, being from Michigan, that is nothing to me.. but these people in Virginia don't know how to drive in snow.. and we don't have snow plows, etc. No superstructure for something like this.. really, if we see two flakes of snow schools close, people freak out and go buy food and water incase they get trapped in their homes.. and I AM NOT exaggerating. Walmart was insane last night. Everyone buying bottled water and blankets..

    So.. hitting the road today..

Hope to see some good news next time I get on the computer!

    HAVE A SAFE TRIP!

    Merry Christmas!

  8. Hi Everyone,

Sorry I havent been on, having a bad end of the year. Just learned this week that my aunt probably will not make it to the end of the year and a good friend passed away after 2 weeks from injuries sustained by being run over by a car.

Next week I will be on vaccation and will probably try to catch up, if I get in the right frame of mind. I miss checking the forum every morning.

    Luis

I am so sorry. I hope things will be turning around for you very soon.

  9. AandD: you haven't received your NOA2 but atleast you're spending the holidays with him. :-)

Sebas&Lily: Congrats! Our thread did bring you luck!

    4Lovewelive: apology accepted!

Ney: Congrats on the addition again but whoa, overload! You have a mini zoo, daycare & more! Lol!

Thanks for the slow time wish!

Gaynto: Everytime I sign on I notice that you're on as well. Get back to work! (Look who's talking, lol!

I work @ a preschool and the kids keep asking me "what are you doing on your phone Ms.Krystle?; I called NVC and was talking on my bluetooth and they swore I was talking to myself!)

It's almost always on in the background on my machine.. Gotta keep up with VJers!

Yesterday when VJ was down, I though the MIS department had finally blocked the site

  10. Welcome back Jenn. Hope you 2 will be together as soon as possible.

I cant sleep. And i gotta wake up in 5 hours. Dont even feel like going to work anymore. I scheduled for the interview and i dont even know if we will have a cosponsor :crying: A friend promissed to do it, but I got a feeling it's just bull....t

I just dunno what to do..... I cant believe that one damn piece of paper keeps me away from him. I am pretty desperate.....

:( I'm sorry to hear that, it will be allright, you will see... I really wish you were in my state, there's LOTS of Romanians here and if you befriended them, I'm sure they would've helped you out... I know how you feel because I think I will be in the same boat with the Sponsoring thing but thank GOD I have some great friends and they are willing to help me.

    And on a lighter note...

APPROVED!!! YES!!! Got a text last night!! WOOOOOOOOOOT!

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=233174

    CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

  11. PaciencayFe: I am so excited my heart is racing, literally! Lol!

I'm not ready but if I was to leave now, I'd go in my birthday suit (naked) Lol

    Goodluck with the medical!

Jenn: Oh really? When I'm around my parents with him, we hold hands, giggle, poke each other... And when night falls, I tell my dad "it's bed time" and he smiles and say he knows what that means. So wait, where do you sleep???

    There aren't much men though.

Ha to the potty talk & strong legs..

Well, I do hope time goes in your favor.

On the flight back, the flight attendant will ask you "what would you like" and you'll say "a ice pak is perfect!"

Kayla:correction, there's a difference between wife & wifey. Wife is when you're actually married. Wifey is when he tells you you're his wife, but you have no ring or wedding plans!

    Get that interview!

I slept in the room with his sisters. It may seem a little strange with the not showing affection, but we are not married yet.. and it's not only part of Turkish culture, we also have the Muslim religion aspect of this. It would not be appropriate for us to share a room or anything else.. especially in his parents house.. of course, I do not stay there the ENTIRE trip :) There are a few days at the start/end of the trip when we are in a hotel :):)

Oh ok. I don't know why I forgot that you were muslim!

:) I don't think it was ever really mentioned. Turkey is a mostly Muslim country, but more laid back than many of the Middle Eastern countries. Some people are very strict.. some aren't. Fuat's family is pretty traditional.

I think today sucks more than yesterday. Waking up alone.. knowing he's not in the house... horrible :(

I'm so sorry Jenn.. 6 more weeks of this and it is OVER!

  12. So my fiance lives in jeddah and the embassy is in saudi arabia.. we just got an email notice that our petition has been approved so i will be getting the NOA2 very soon.. my concern is that the NVC sends info to my fiance, but my fiance doenst live on a very reliable address.. mail gets lost there all the time.. so how will he receieve the forms an stuff? how will that work.. i mean the packets an stuff... please help... how can i prevent stuff from goin to his address because it is not a reliable address.. please help.. im freakin out here... i usually send paperwork to his dads work address.. can he put that address down as means of gettin mail?

My fiance is from Italy, and I received his packet 3 in my email. You may want to review the embassy info for Saudi Arabia regarding whether they will email you or snail mail him.

  13. Oh don't feel bad for the guys on here, you should feel bad for the guys I work with. There's 3 of them, and 12 of us in our store. And each of them is just like me. Those poor, poor boys. The things they have to hear! But one of them combats it by saying "That's what she said" every 3 minutes, LOL.

Even if I learn french perfectly through Rosetta Stone it still wont be the french they speak in Quebec. So I'll still have a lot of learning to do. Mathew's parents try the best they can to speak to me in English and I just feel awful that I'm not returning the favor by learning french. I think if I spent 3 days alone with them I'd probably be in tears. I have this thing about when they talk in french I think they're saying bad things about me. I dunno why. Apparently they love me.

Jenn, you're going to be the bestest wifey ever! They're just wondering because that's what families do. Don't let it get to you!

Panda Watch day number 6. I'm gettin' that interview!

Rosetta stone is great for building language skills, but I found it wasn't always what I needed to know for Antonio's parents. I hired an Italian teacher in the area that is from Rome to concentrate on the kinds of things I needed to go to the beach, and hang out with his family. And once you start learning regular conversation you will pick up buckets with the rosetta stone and things like

Wordreference.com I use it to focus on expanding my vocabulary, especially verbs. Most words even have pronunciation included.

  14. Kayla you were right! Today was a good day.... I received notice from NVC that they recieved my case and of course I just HAD to call and the very polite young lady informed me that my case was sent out to the consulate on 12/10. I'm not even going to try and track, I have enough stress. Since I'll be there in 1 week, we can check on the way from the airport if packet 3 is at the post office.

AandD: your time is coming, whether you get your NOA2 this week or not, you'll still be happy because you're going to see hubby!

    Goodnight everyone.

YEAAA! It's probably at the consulate by now.. you will probably get packet 3 when you are with your honey!!

  15. Hello All,

My husband came here on a K1 we have lifted conditions and he now has a 10 year GC.

Since shortly after he arrived, he has been cheating, internet, phone, txting....IDK if he has been physical with anyone. (does that matter? phone sex is still sex)

To make a long story short, he took a job in another state, started his cheating BS, (each time gets closer to a physical interlude) He refuses to give me his address he has not been home in almonst 2 months and i dont know when he will come home. Most recently he does not want me to call him #######?????

I was researching online and I discovered that I can get an annulment based on fraud if I do it in the next 6 months.

Has anyone done this? I dont care about the GC and all that #######, I just cant take this anymore, since he came here my life has WAY too much drama. And it is getting worse.

I have told him if he does not want to be married to divorce me, but he wont.

I would like to pursue the annulment route, I was just wondering if anyone else has done this.

I am NOT trying to get him deported, I just cant take this ####### anymore. Quite frankly I dont think he wants to be married anymore either, he just does not have the balls to do anything about it.

***no criticism just answers about my questions appreciated***

If you know where he works, he can be served at work...

  16. Well we're doing everything early because it keeps me from going crazy and it's more convenient for us to have everything already done. Besides, with his family coming from so far away we have to give advanced notice. I'm going to send out Save the Dates this month so they'll all have plenty of time to get time off approved from work and make travel arrangements. Maybe I'll just send him a save the date instead of an invitation. Those wont be going out until about 2 months before the wedding anyways.

You just don't know what I've had to go through to be a good boy. But I'm glad he decided to listen. :)

hmm save the date is a good idea.. I think I should do that too

go to savethedatemagic.com. We're getting 100 for $48.00 and they'll let you customize the text, which is awesome since he needs them in french!

We are also doing bilingual save the dates since I have to give the Americans plenty of notice for the 2nd ceremony being held in Italy next September.

I had a friend create them and the print costs were pennies a piece..

  17. Thanks Kayla.

4Lovewelive: I've lost a lot of hair as well as sleep. I get up @ 1-3 am & not go back to sleep until 2-3 hours later, of course when it's almost time to get up.

As far as tips, I used all that time to ORGANIZE! I organized & re-decorated my room, bathroom & kitchen. everything is in place & easiest to find. All my paper work are labeled & seperated in folders & in 1 bag.

I also threw out unimportant things & papers to free up some space.

If you don't have the time like I do or already have things in your home organized, you can make a deal w/ your honey. For instance, me & my honey sends each other text messages that offer words of encouragement. It can be a poem, prayer or simple "I love u"

But stres is horrible & can have very unpleasant effects so try not to worry.

I am so sorry you are stressed.. I hope you are feeling better soon. Maybe you can check if there is a Zen massage in your area. Occasionally I go and have one, they are about $39 and I feel much better after one when I am stressed. Take care of yourself.

  18. Hello Everyone!

I have several pages to go back and read to catch up. Granddaughter #2 (Natalie) made her debut on the 9th, and I've been taking care of my first granddaughter (Emilie (two years old)) while mommy and daddy are living at the hospital with the new baby.

I hope to see lots of interviews, POE's, and A&D's NOA2 when I back track. I will catch up soon. If any of you lovers are heading out for the holidays be careful and enjoy every minute.

To all have a fantastic day!!!

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!

  19. Antonio always tells me when I am talking to his mother than I am always scheming a feminist plot. His mother is very forward thinking for an Italian mother, but her actions haven't caught up, at least where her baby is concerned. But he does cook and help around MY house when he comes to the US. And the housekeeping thing... OMG! His mom is coming in March, I could eat off her floors. I tend to be a good housekeeper but the bar they set is pretty damn high! You think she will freak that my cat jumps on the counter to see what you are doing in the kitchen??.. I am desperatly trying to break him of this habit before she gets here!! Any cat whisperers in here?.. this is my first time with a cat.. I am generally a dog person... I can train a dog, but this freaking cat owns me instead of the other way around..

If you figure that one out let me know the secret. My cat does the same thing and it's going to drive Fuat crazy.

He's at work right now.. trying to catch up on all these posts :)

Just so happens a lady at Pet Smart just told me to put tape on the counter stick side up (like the blue painters tape)... She said your house will look horrible covered in blue painters tape but eventually they learn... Not so sure, but I will try..

    Glad you're having fun!
