Ok my question is that I did a cr1 i mailed in all the original documents to nvc.

I was reading interview preparation link , and it say you have to bring all the original

documents to the interview so do we have to go thur and get all the police records birth certificate , marriage certificate n do he need to bring my birth certificate. I just want to start gettting all ready now .

Brooklyn, I wondered this as well. I searched the forums & did find a couple of posts about it. It seems if you submitted a CERTIFIED copy of something, you may need to show the original at your interview. There are certain original documents that can't be obtained a second time, or are expensive enough to obtain once! For example, if court records don't exist anymore, you can obtain a letter from the courthouse stating that. That letter would be something you would have a hard time getting in original form a second time. I know in our case, getting the letter in the first place was difficult! The court clerk simply couldn't see why he had to provide a letter stating he searched the records and couldn't find anything.

Anyhow, here's the answer I found:

The last page of our appointment letter says "[name of beneficiary/applicant] must bring the following to the visa interview: Any original documents that were requested by the NVC but were not submitted to the NVC...." so I don't think you need to bring originals which you have already submitted with your DS230.

If somebody thinks this is incorrect, I hope they let us know.

I'm pretty sure that's correct. They want originals or certified and if you send certified then they want to see the originals at the interview. If you did send originals with your DS-230, then its okay and you are not required to have another original document because...NVC will have it! And it is suggested that you retain copies of the documents you have sent.

yes ,, i can agree with this ,, if you submmit an original no need to worry about it that will be forwarded to the embassy but if you summit a copy they may want the original handy,, for example my husband had sent the original marriage certificate to nvc i told him to make a copy for him self in case any ways so when he goes to the embassy they are not gonna ask him to provide that,, well after all nvc will forward what he sent them,, ( they better) lol

after you mail off the I864 package, on average how long does it take to be accepted?

i'm still waiting for an answer ....someone.....anyone?

Bunzz it all varies but it is an average of 5-6 days to get in to the system and then about a day or two to get reviewed if they do it fast!! but this is average !

I really hope so- my nerves are shot now... I thought it would get better but its literally all I can think of when I am awake and dream of when I am sleeping!

I'm a little sad today.. NVC sent me a email yesterday missing some document of my co-sponsor (his dad) ( he cant get the document right now) well, but his cute mom is going to be my co-sponsor...

well just have to see the good face in all this and see how much he wants me there and show his love uhmmmm and wait &wait more again ..

Friends, My question is my ds230 can be accepted bfore anyway??? and after that just i need to wait for my I864 be accepted right?

yes mary , your ds 230 can be accepted before your I864 arrives there , try to send the sencond CO sponsor doc as soon as posibble ,, once they review your Ds230 and every thing is "okay" with it they will send you an email saying they are waiting for your Aos , once that is send and reviewed your case will be completed, good luck

congrats to everyone who got an interview date or case complete. I am having a hard time with the whole waiting game- the aos documents were signed for on monday but still not reviewed...its the end and its just hard still waiting. I hope I can join all the people with interview dates soon.

I know we are pretty happy... It will the the first time my hubby lived on land instead of a ship... Should be a BIG adjustment... After so many years of this crazy life it will be odd for me too! I'm pretty independent... But it will be a happy change, time to settle down and move on to the next phase of our lives!

So believe it or not... Naples contacted my husband back after we requested an earlier interview date (if they had one available) and WE GOT AN EARLIER DATE!!! The New interview date is Nov 4th (it was the 10th)... He will do medical on the 3rd and interview on the 4th!!!! YAY!!! I know it only saves us about a week, but we all know that in this process every day counts!!!!

Thanks!!! I am soooo happy! Believe it or not... I am not that nervous, now it is my husbands turn to be nervous and worry... I did that since April during the USCIS and NVC stuff... I made him do all his flight and travel arrangements (gotta make him feel useful and a part of the process...lol.. ) But we have been married for over 6 years and together for 9, so we have lots of evidence... I am more nervous about finally living together after all these years!!! But I cannot wait to get him home...

Hey, for everybody questioning sending in an RFE without waiting for the checklist to arrive by email....

I finally got the email today, and it's a totally different address than the initial bar-coded cover sheet. I thought I'd post the info here in case anybody had the same question.

The initial bar-coded cover sheet says to send the package to:

Attn: CMR

32 Rochester Avenue

The checklist cover sheet I just received in email for our missing document says to send to:

Attn: DR

31 Rochester Avenue, Suite 100

So for future RFE'rs, I'm wondering if it's unwise to send back without the checklist with the original bar-coded cover sheet. Some people report they've sent it back without any major problems, but I'd be afraid to. Thoughts anyone?

I sent it with out the initial email notification ,, i thought 31 rochester and 32 i figures they were gonna be sub units so any ways i did not wait for the email that is because not to waste my time , you know how nvc is they don't care whether my husband gets here faster or not I DO lol so i sent it with the original coversheet every thing was fine when they reviewed it , the thing is sending it faster makes a diffrence it will be okay with out the email, but now you got the email it is okay to do that as well .

MY DS 230 got accepted finally!!!!!!!!!

They received it on 19th of October and today it got accepted. NO RFE nothing!

Thank you Lily! You know what I called them today and this operator confused me and I was arguing with her that someone told me my DS 230 has been approved. The only thing this operator was trying to tell me was that my husband needs to bring a police certificate to his interview even though I have sent one with the DS 230 and she made it seem like a RFE although it's not. I swear some of these operators are crazy!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you been calling them for interview date?

I cannot send this document that they are claiming missing until I received an email from them that they are needing this docs.

I also received this same sing-song from an operator, who told me they issued a request on October 20th, then said oh, it hasn't been sent out yet. I've received no email. Five hours later, I called again and spoke to someone different, who told me I could simply re-print the cover sheet from the invoice page and send the missing document (in our case, court records) back to the NVC.

Has anybody had luck sending a document in before the "official" email requesting it?

yes i did on my RFE for AOS was missing some digits i found out when i called them so then they said i will be getting email that tells me what was missing but i did not wait for the email i got to act on it immidiately so i asked the nvc supervisor was that that was missing because i don't want you guys to ask me after sending what you are asking me and then find out some thing else latter ?????? when i get the yes from the supervisor i went ahead and send out the doc with the cover sheet , and a letter explaining why i was sending this doc again

( in my case it was the 864 original forms and the right figures ( numbers ) on it

and a letter just stating that i am sending this again because of a previous request (usps over night )

next thing i know i still got the email after three days ( how ignorant they are ) i ignored it and waited till they get my Second AOS sure did ,,,,, every thing was okay with it ,,,, followed by case completion !!!

Hi to all here! I just want to tell that I just called NVC tonight and I already have interview date: Dec. 04, 2009 at 6:30AM at U.S. Embassy Manila Philippines. I thought i need to wait until 2nd week of November but God is really great.

That is weird with your 230- I sent mine around the same time they acknowledged it on the 19th and they processed it by the 23rd so I spoke to a operator today and they confirmed the packet was complete. My AOS got there today so I am going to give it a week. You should be hearing on your DS 230 this week!

does anybody know how long it takes to get an interview date from nvc after case complete? thanks in advance, i knw some here have their interview dates already

krammar i am glad you ask that q i am sure every one will have that q preety soon too after their case is completed , here is what i got today from nvc supervisor and i am gonna rely one it about 95% they no longer assign interviews for nov it is over and done with , since our case is complete after the dead line of nov assignment which was the second week of october .

Some times they do go over the third week but it is not guranteed , which i thought they would have done for this past week because of the holiday but oh well they did not consider that ,, all that said we are gonna be hopefully assigned for Dec , which they don't know if it is guranteed , i some times think they have to answer that way just to put us in anxiety and more stress , any ways i am gonna wait till the second week of nov to call them for dec interview hopefully all of us who had a "case complete" before the second week of nov will have a dec interview, let's keep track every one's case complete and interview here !!! god help us please for dec

You'll get a December interview, I just know it... And sometimes they do an intermediate scheduling the last week of the month... That is what happed with Paris and that group... But it will be for December, As you said, I think November is over and done... Sorry

In reference to the email of case sent to the embassy, Feliz you could have just asked that question in the log instead of just sending privately to my email and again to relate to that question that was asked, I was going by what the OP said in my confirmation of case complete, now if it actually was sent there I have no idea but that is exactly what I was told. But knowing that just as everyone else who is waiting on their interview is what is most important. Praying for everyone else waiting and God bless!

The way I always understood it, and how NVC incessantly repeated to me when I called them DAILY about forwarding my case to Naples, is that the case is not forwarded until an interview is assigned... Perhaps Senegal is different, but for 99% of the folks here, it will be NVC schedules interview then forward to consulate...

Mine sat at NVC for 10 days AFTER interview was assigned till they sent it it to the embassy... Which really ticked me off since they have earlier openings but could not do anything until they received the case!!!

If for some reason you got lucky or they did something different... Congrats.. I think it is a BIG advantage to get out of NVC's hands ASAP!!! Good luck to all

There are 2 types of embassys, appointed ones, that is where the embassy will tell NVC the interview date, then NVC forwards your case to them, and then there are the Non Appointed embassys, that is where the embassy sets interview dates.

Appointed embassys gets your case only AFTER NVC gives you the interview date.

When it is a Non Appointed embassy, NVC forwards your case after case completition.And embassy gives you the interview date.

hey everyone, I haven't been on much since I have been avoiding thinking about the case too much- everything has been sent an the AOS packet will be delivered on Monday by FedEx...It good to hear how so many people have moved further in their case..

I got a false RFE regarding the AOS packet so I am not worried at all... Just hanging in now and waiting for the magical log in failure
