  1. Well that what happened in my papers too coz like it said once it is approved in NVC they will be the one to forward the papers to embassy manila and that we will have to wait for the calls but we got nothing until we decided to send fax to them so a week or 2 weeks after they send me a letter telling all the information and the appointments and thats the time when my husband moved in Philippines.

I am so disappointed that a little chances or might not at all but if this is the reality then i think i would just stay till I finish my school and might my husband could make enough money by then. But i have one question , would it be possible that the company or the owner of the company where my husband is working now could be a co-sponsor even if we are not related to him??? I hope to hear you guys soon..

Thanks a lot for the responses..hope you guys give some more additional info.

  2. I think we had a good reason why i did not show up during my appointments but it does not mean that i wasn't serious about my marriage or in our relationship. When I had my first appointment my husband was here in Philippines and he resigned at his job and believe that he will stay here for good but he wasn't in good shape after 10 months to stay so he decided to go back in U.S.A (we lived together for 13 months) The medical exam was already paid in BPI, i know it was a waste and it hurt me a lot but we are having a problem about money so that was the main reason why we had to cancel the 2 appointments but I hope there will be another chances for us. We are almost 9 months apart from each other since he left , i hope the embassy will understand. But right now I am studying and i have almost 8 months to go before my graduation day. My husband want me to go and visit him during my semestral break this coming october, so we are planning about visitor/tourist visa would it be possible? I will only stay atleast 2 weeks and back in phils to finish my school and if so does anyone could give me all the details if what are the requirements or documents needed???please help

i dont think visitors visa is possible.. we tried that before when i was still in PI and we were just trying to decide whether to stay in manila or just settle down here in the states but the US embassy said they really dont give tourist visa to american citizen's spouse. :-(.. so sorry bout that.

I agree. Since you are married to an American, there is a presumption that you're gonna stay in the United States and not returning to the Philippines. Little or no chance at all that the US Embassy will give you a visitor's visa unless you can show strong ties to the Philippines.

  3. Hey, I'm from Thailand and I've recently just got married to a US citizen. He doesn't make enough to meet the required minimum income. We've been asking the people that we know to help us but no one would be our joint sponsor.

Is there any other way to do this, like file for an appeal or something? Would an attorney help? Please help! We're desperate and my visa (B-2) is expiring in less than 2 months. Should I file to extend my stay with the USCIS? 'Cuz we will need more time to keep looking for a joint sponsor. I don't know anyone here and he doesn't have any close friends... We just want to be together :(

    Thanks!

You guys applied for a tourist visa so how did it work? Can you give me some details please ??:(

    Thanks

  4. When we had it filed we are financially stable and had the money (lets say the ITR 2005-07) he was making more than what it required but just really happened that he come to philippines and that he had to quit on his job.And like i said now that he is back in U.S.A he work again but still not reaching the required amount and that is the reason why we cannot start it right now..

  8. why dont you ask your spouse's relatives to help you and be your co-sponsor? you need to have a valid reason to request for an extension and it takes about two months processing time. Also, request for extension is $300 with no guarantees. i would rather use the money for the AOS application instead of asking for an extension. overstay is not an issue when your application is approved.

Congratulation and that you finally get your visa..I was reading the whole thing and i think this is almost like my situation, I got married in Philippines and we applied for a K-3 last march 2007 and supposedly had an appointment last october the same year but what happened my husband came to Philippines and decided to stay and get a dual citizenship and we haven't gone through on it because he went back to USA. The first appointment was canceled and i look at my papers and receipt coz i was already paid for my medical exam it says that it is good for 1 year and that is until april 30, 2009 so a month before the expiry date my husband tried to call the embassy manila and rescheduled the interview but sad to say that for the second time it was canceled again because he do not have enough income not when he resign to his job before. He is making less to how much it is required. Can we ask someone from his family to have a sponsorship letter and how does it work? From the embassy manila says possible termination does it mean i still have chances and if not what type of visa do i prefer to re file for the second time? I am really confused .I really wanted to be with my husband and i miss him so bad coz we are 9 months away from each other since he go back to the USA. I am terribly sad and i hope you good give me some advices. thanks

  9. I hope someone could give some advices here. I had an appointment last October 30,2008 in St. Luke's Hospital (Manila) for my medical examination and November 7, 2008 for the Embassy Manila interview but something quite happens and was not able to go. This March 2009 we decided to rescheduled my 2 appointments and did call the embassy and they gave me details or date when to go but again for the second time i still missed it and it says from the embassy manila letter that there will be a possible termination of my papers the above date which is april 30 2008-april 30 2009, so it means 1 year is over. It says possible termination, does it mean we can still reschedule it again? Does anyone knows about Visa Waiver Program?? Hopefully to hear from anyone ..thanks and good luck...
